It was said by a forum poster that both summarized and translated that article. I would much, much, much rather have confirmation from a developer than a what I described.

Green or yellow please. The blue in Oblivion just didn't feel right.

I've got a question.. or two rather.
Will spellmaking be available to the player? and if so, can you delete the spells you've created afterwards?

its already confirmed that spell making will not be apart of Skyrim.the only reason i can think of is that they dont want game braking spells to be created.but idk it worked well in Oblivion so idk why they took it out.but 85 spells plus 5 schools of magic is alot

Just a thought on questions about spell-making. MrTissueBox posted one for me, but it was premised on a largely Morrowind/Oblivion-like system, where spells consisted of spell effects of varying magnitudes, durations, and areas-of-effect. It now sounds like - although I agree that the authenticity of this is somewhat dubious - this sort of magic system is no longer present.

So: perhaps a better question to ask might be something like "We've seen that we'll be able to customise our magic by the way we cast spells - a fire damage spell can serve as a fireball or a flamethrower, depending on how you cast it. Can you elaborate more upon the options for magic customisation in Skyrim? How will this system work for spells which don't directly deal damage, such as healing spells, summoning spells, demoralise/frenzy type spells, invisibility, water breathing, and so on?"

I know its been said that "its been answered" but why not include polearms when they would be immensely practical for fighting dragons, Is it due to some game inbalancing factor or is it because bethesda believe that only a small proportion of the userbase would use them and therefore it is not worth there effort implementing them into the game.
Mounts and if so , mounted combat?
Some clarification on the spellmaking situation, and if not included same as the polearms question above.
Is there any chance of implementing a "hardcoe mode" as a means of accomadating both long term elderscrolls fans and the slightly more casual userbase? (i.e. Casual = fast travel, for hardcoe turn it off and have a fast travel system more akin to morrowind for example, several other commuinit requested tweaks etc).
As from the GI article, there will be woodcutting and cooking, any chance of implementing jobs such as entertainers(official morrowind mod) or acting diversions?
is there more than 1 assasins guild? and if so can they compete against each other?
Has a much greater pool of voice actors being recruited compared with oblivion? those actors were fine but did not suit all characters and it was allways jarring to see the voice actors effectively talking to themselves. (suggestion, why not hold internal audionts with your staff if there up for it and assign them more minor voice actor parts to vary it up a bit)
The character creator if to be comapred to an existing one, which would it most closely resemble( for example, eve, dragon age, apb etc)
There is a lot of nordic influence, will there be some celtic influence aswell?
Will there be some cinematic effects as shown with some experimentation in the likes of fallout 3, and the point lookout expansion?
Even though its a new engine can it now handle more than 10 characters on screen without the frame rate going to hell?
Will the border regions show influence from that nation (i.e on the morrowind border some morrowind foods and archetechture as well as an increase in the dumner population?
Regionally known criminals or phycic guards, have the looked at mods such as reneers guard overhaul?
Will the imperial guard at least make a cameo appearence with the exact same line as oblivion(i loved those guys)
A character similar to the adoring fan?
companions or followers at all a la fallout?
horse and cart(or carrige?) or just horse?

many more but i better stop, wohever reads this should probly junk most of it and maybe just take the points they like, cheers ;)

does that mean that spells are much more awesome :P

and is telekinesis cool now, as in can I throw sarcophagi at peoples faces :flamethrower:

and did dark messiah give you some inspiration for the new magic system?

Would someone ask whether their quest design philosophy is the same as Fallout 3 (aka choices and consequences, skill checks, dialogue trees), or Oblivion (single path quests, not dependant upon any skill at all except how quick you click, and single word dialogue responses)? All the other questions are just details. This is of critical importance in knowing whether we can expect a half decent game or a real disappointment.

Can someone please ask the following questions if you have a GI account?

  • Can we write our own notes in the journal, kind of like a personal diary?
  • Has "clutter" been improved since Oblivion to make it generally more useful?
  • Is sleeping more important than in Oblivion, in terms of both positive and negative effects?
  • Can people and horses traverse a practically vertical mountainside by moving laterally without sliding down, as in Oblivion?

We don't know : as far as I know, we can only assume thursday, as indicated in the op, because it's the usual day for GI podcasts. :)

And on another note, I'm advising people who like me registered and whose messages don't show to have their questions re-posted by someone else ASAP. Investigating today, it looks like the site is new and has some bugs : I mean, I tried to post on their forums, and not even that shows, for crying out loud.
