Next tier of vault invaders?

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 5:19 am

So now that most everyone has rendered deathclaws little more than a nuisance, what will be next to show up? I'm thinking Super Mutants armed with heavy weapons. As much life as deathclaws with the added difficulty of high damage ranged weapons.

Are you talking about default mode or survival mode?

Is it only people playing the survival mode, that gets to having those deathclaws attacking your vault?

If that is the case, it shouldnt only be prioritized for those people.

Same thing if they implant super mutants as you are talking about.

In addition to supermutants, I'd like to see some Enclave at some point, Fallout 2-style.

Yeah that'd be fine as the tier after supermutants. They'd have more effective HP than the supermutants due to their advanced power armor and they would all carry top tier weapons.

I'd like for more enemies (super mutants, feral ghouls, etc) but what I'd like more is for enemies to actually be challenging later on. They need some major scaling. Also for all the enemies to vary in how/what they do to your vault or how they fight. Like how molerats hurt power.

Examples:

Raiders - many in numbers, smarter ai maybe, can get higher tier weapons

Deathclaws - melee, fast through rooms so they can get past typically heavily gaurded first floor, moderate hp

Super mutants - highest hp, slow, ranged rifles and spiked boards for weapons that turn to power sledge hammers later on perhaps they can "disable rooms" for awhile do to smashing them or break down upgrade rooms later on.

Feral ghouls - maybe they can enter from lower levels like roaches and rats. Extremely fast melee, cause radiation damage as they hurt you. Perhaps if they kill a dweller they become feral.

Mulurks - also come in from below, cause flooding perhaps? Not sure on this one. High health or damage resistance to anyone with out X level in perception.

Overall I'd like a tougher end game.

I would love to see enclave troops in Hellfire armor, also super mutants would be nice, I mean, don't super mutants go for humans to make them into mutants?

Super mutant invasion would be a satisfying update. Maybe even a Behemoth outside the vault that continuously smashes the vault door letting in an endless stream of mutants. You'd have to send vault dwellers outside to battle the behemoth and defeat it to end the wave.

Good idea, or maybe the Enclave could come and try and take over the vault.

Yeah someone else mentioned them earlier in the thread. I reckoned Enclave could be the tier after super mutants. Enclave soldiers would all have advanced power armor and high damage, top tier weapons. Their armor would give them a higher effective health than supermutants.

Why can't raiders come in greater numbers and spread up in couple of (maybe random) rooms? They are nothing more than nuisance now when I need to wait for half a minute for them to get through my upgraded vault door and then watch them run in my first room where they drop dead within few seconds. Haven't seen more than 4 of them as I have 75 dwellers and most of them near lvl50 with 10-25 damage weapons.
