Never seen an open beta that wasn't for multiplayer.

Plus it wouldn't work with a sandbox game.

Bethesda sold us the beta for $60, now we're testing it for them.

Too many people treat open betas like game demos, and even developers treat open betas like game demos.

They last a week or two and nothing changes before release.

Chances are unless you're being paid by somebody you're not actually testing anything but how much stress a server can handle. Like the recent TOR beta for instance.
