Next Two DLC's for Skyrim Rumored to be about Snow ElvesNord

I back away from my "zero chance" statement then. Still, very unlikely.

The more lore they uncovered, the more they screwed things up. I rather they leave the Nords, Snow Elves, Falmers, Dwermers untouched. But I like the other DLC idea, about getting a new Skyrim king to fight against the elves, probably would be a good transition towards TES6, but then again, it's too early for TES6, there would probably be another Fallout in between TES5 and TES6.

I'm starting to get really sick of the Falmer. They're my absolute least favorite enemy to fight in Skyrim.

You have no reasoning to back that up. Bethesda has not said Dragonborn is the last one, they said more news in 2013, and Skyrim is still being played and DLC is still in demand.

My reasoning is thus:
Morrowind's last DLC came out a year after its release.
Oblivion's last DLC came out a year after its release.
Fallout 3's last DLC came out ten months after its release.
Upon the release of content for the PS3 and when we get Dragonborn for PS3, it'll be 1 year and four months since Skyrim's release.
Publishers know that the further from release that DLC drop, the profitability of DLC drops.
Bethesda said this when they announced Dragonborn's release:

Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have more DLC. But we're not getting more DLC.

Edit: I apologize for the double post.

Way to completely cherry-pick from that statement. Am I supposed to take you seriously when you so blatantly disregard the other part of that quote?

PS. Skyrim is infinitely more popular than Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout.

Naturally, Haute!

Okay, you've confused me. What did I cherry-pick? What did I disregard? I'm stating my reasoning. Not responding to yours.

Not to mention, there's like a 0% chance that they *aren't* going to implement spears in some capacity (beyond as arrows). They've already got the animations and at least one model made, and it's one of the most-demanded features besides crossbows (and hence a reason for a not-insignificant chunk of the fanbase to invest in another DLC). It would be supremely stupid for them NOT to do it. So until we see spears, I'm confident that we'll keep getting DLC.

Ooh, the Bethesda post. Well you shouldn't blame me for cherry picking when that wasn't even in the statement http://www.bethblog.com/2013/01/18/the-dragonborn-comes-in-february-and-hearthfire-dawnguard-too/. Besides, doesn't the announcement of the release of all PS3 additional content count as "more Skyrim news?"

Edit: I realized just now that I said "announced Dragonborn's release". I'm a PC player, not an Xbox player. /sleep.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' />

Highly doubt it. "We've supported Skyrim more than any other game, and we're still not done!" probably doesn't mean PS3 getting DLC because they've been saying they would for a long time now. If it did mean Skyrim DLC for PS3, they would have said that they're done with that release as well.

Considering Shivering Isles, where they made it clear that SI was the last add-on they were supporting Oblivion with.

That could mean further patches, you know. Even their last DLC in previous games received their own share of patching. They're just saying that they will continue to support the game. So we'll likely receive further patches. And hey, perhaps we'll received some free content in those patches?

Anyway, I'm sticking to my guns. I'm in the same win-lose situation as everyone else. I'd rather have more DLC than the bitter satisfaction of being right. Still, I don't want you guys going into mid 2013 still expecting DLC somewhere down the road. There's a time and place folks.

If it's July and there's no new trademarks, then it's probably the end. Skyrim is still popular and they haven't said they're done like they have in the past.. so until then there's not much reason to assume they aren't besides assuming that Beth just likes to be cryptic and keep people in the dark for fun.

Well, they said that there would be more content coming for Skyrim this year so I'm wondering where you got that idea. Of course if they go by the Oblivion/Morrowind route, then yes, DB will be last DLC. On the other hand, if they go by the Fallout route, there is going to be more DLCs.

No more DLCs please even tho i would love more DLCs for Skyrim, one of my favorite games of all times but they need to focus on Fallout 4 asap! so that the even better Elder Scroll VI could come out sooner, hopefully 2016-2017.

I'd rather let Obsidian do the Fallout-games from now on since they do that better than Bethesda, although they seem to be busy with Project Eternity (oh, the irony) and that South Park game. I really can't see Fallout 4 bringing anything new to the table though (other than better graphics). The TES universe has infinitely more potential for future releases and there's no point in making TES6 before the 720/PS4 generation.

They need to move Fallout to a different continent to switch things up, IMO.

I want Beth to take their time with TES VI. I want it to be on Summerset and I want it to be bloody brilliant. For the mean time, I want them to support Skyrim as much as they can. It's got so much more potential that can be added into it, and the current DLC's have already done a great job of fleshing out the game.

I'd like it, but I don't think we wil get a DLC about taking the fight to the Thalmor. It wouldn't really fit. We have seen a couple of agents workign within Skyrim, albiet in high places, and know some of their background. But we haven't SEEN much of them. I think a few-hour DLC, even the size of Shivering Isles or Broken Steel, would be a mistake as we would be getting rid of a faction that could be (and in my opinion may be) another full game. Skrim is about just that, Skyrim, and dragons a plenty. Its why the closest to Morrowind we get in Dragonborn is Solsthiem. I personally think we may end up on Summerset in TES VI and the Thalmor will be the main enemy. Perfect typical TES setup too: a prisoner arrested as a foreigner/spy. It would be fine if you were Altmer, too, as you could have left the Isles. I may be wrong, but these are my feelings. Guess we'll know in about four years, hehe.

The Moot however? I think we may see that. Just not the following events. I reckon they will be vaguely covered in the history books or through rumor. The more they set in stone who won the Civil War, or how much they make it matter, the more they have to make fit in the next game. Infact, I wouldn't be suprised if a 'High King' themed DLC had the main plot point of Elisef/Ulfric being assassinated, and your duty is to kill their killer, and who was behnd it. Then a neutral party takes the throne, and the next game has a solid figure as to who is ruling Skyrim. With the differing genders, they can't even just use the generic 'High King of Skyrim' as a descriptor at the moment.

I think a perfect way to conduct a Moot DLC would be to have Skyrim still in the same Civil War, and in the middle of the Moot a huge Thalmor incursion happens attempting to "pacify" Talos worship. The incursion prompts all humans to work together against the Thalmor and the old rivalry gets shoved aside. Skyrim could be considered part of the Empire for the sake of dealing with the Thalmor, even if on paper it isn't necessarily so.

I've convinced myself that the Thalmor are left undealt with, as they are a major faction in TES VI: Dominion.

If they do end it with Dragonborn with all the expectations they've built up it'd be a weak way for Skyrim to go.
