Is it just me, or is there some Mongolian heavy cavalry influence on the design?

It looks like polearms are in, I saw a halberd.

A lot of spears in those concept drawings for sure, Some of them even looked like the same guy with a spear in different poses.

You can also see very faintly the concept of the face of an orc in the background of the image.

A couple or so concept art shows lengthy beards of the Gandalf sized variety. They are really going all out if it's properly implemented.

City with fire everywhere? Like kvatch? What do you mean multiple levels?

Bad explanation. In some of the shots about 1/3 of the way in, there is a city with a lot of torches or whatever around the place that are on fire, intentional for lighting at night presumably. It has some houses on the lower level and then behind on the left you see some houses up much higher, implying like a second level with a retaining wall or something.

Also, from 2:39 we see what appears to be a bridge between 2 huge wooden buildings and a dog walking alone with a character, implying character pets.

Among the numerous books there were several on VIkings, a few on Samurais and I think i saw some on Mongols as well.

In the concept art with the orc armor what's in that little square box on the bottom left?

That has been explained in one of the other videos to possibly be a city. It extends down into the cliff faces.

"There's new systems for allowing decals and scars, face painting, just a lot higher resolution assets for generating all the characters in the game."

(~1:40 @ http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/26/the-art-of-skyrim.aspx )

Does this mean we get hi-res textures for PC?

There was "halberd" concept art in other videos too, we've known about it for a long time.

Furthermore it doesn't prove the existance of ether spears nor polearms in the game, it could just be two handed axes like in Oblivion.

The way the female Redguard on the concept art wields it totally screams pole arm to me.

In game books or actual books they are reading to draw inspiration from?

That just looks wrong on so many levels with those human feet attached to that lizard body....

The books on the shelves they use for inspiration.

Wow, I can't believe I missed that. It looks wonderful. :D

Certainly. There even was that influence in OB's version, with the helmet as well.

It doesn't matter how they class it, a halberd is a polearm. If they have polearms in the game but don't give them a polearm category then polearms are still in the game.

I hope if we choose face paint in character creation we can remove it or change it anytime in game? Hope we won't be locked into it forever?

I don't think concept art of certain things means it will be in the game.

If the console works anything like previously, the right code will make the character creation menu pop up. :) No problem to your char - I did that after de-vampiring messed up my imperial.

Well at last someone notices. :P I thought I was the only one to find the stance pretty hilarious.
