I asked that too, but i don't think such options will be available. It will look considerably better then console, but not that much. It would only hurt their sales on consoles if they did. But who knows, maybe they will! Let's wait and see, not much to go.

Essentially, if crytek are too scared to make the game all it can be because of microsoft's money, modders will finish the job :)

Unm I see, well I agree but in no circumstances should crysis for consoles and crysis for pc be compare, it would be quite dissapointing to not be able to enjoy the engine's full potential just because the difference of gaming experience that it implicates, I would really like to be able to play the game with its full graphical capabilities as shown in the NextGen ready sections of the video. If anyone hears any info regarding this please share it. buying a rig with these spec i7 990X , 12 GB kingston HyperX 1800 memory, and 2 way SLI GTX580 SC would be completely pointless. Just better to wait for new technology if crysis 2 will run on half these specs.

Thats actually BS though isn't it! They might think that but it's irrational. It might hurt sales of console hardware versus PC's going forwards but won't affect Cryteks game sales. Would sell more PC versions though 4 sure. Also if that were true then cut scenes would have the same impact especially ones where hes holding the gun like it's in game.

I don't even use PC gaming, but I see no reason why they shouldn't push PC a bit further if they can. It's not like we'll all suddenly change over, the controllers etc are what makes consoles so appealing in comparison to keyboards.

As for really pushing it though, the high spec requirements necesary aren't exactly commonplace among PC users, so they'd be hurting their own sales, and expecting people to upgrade for the sake of a game is pushing the boundaries of ridiculous.

how exactly do the mods for this engine work? Like can people just hop on and make a single player campaign or a multiplayer map and just host it? ... kind of like battle.net and starcraft?

Not sure how battle.net works, but people just make the mod file and it'll be available to download from where they host it from. Multiplayer will likely be the same.

battle.net is pretty handy. It just has a "join mulitiplayer game" room where there is a giant list of all the custom maps people have created. You can do searches or browse by game type...no installing is required because the map is downloaded and run through the battle.net client.

And conveniently all bnet mods are also property of Blizzard, just in case someone makes the next DotA.

Wait wait wait, I'm a little confused. What do you guys mean by "Next Gen Ready"? Is it a hidden maximum graphics setting that's exclusive to Crytek's use only? And yes SandBox3 will come with the PC version of Crysis 2.

SYNTAXERROR if you watch the video at the beginning of the thread you will notice there are a few sections labeled nextgen ready, that happened to look a lot better regarding detail, view distance, PHYSICS, shaders, etc then the actual PC game footage they are showing us. and Regarding to the other replies I definitely agree that most hardcoe PC gamers that are fans of Crytek's work would definitely do the upgrading necessary to meet the needs for a maximum experience if possible of course

I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT CONTENT WOULD BE AVAILABLE. IT WOULD BE AWESOME....
