Thanks, Robin, for your explanation and reassurance. Thanks to everyone else for your calm, rational and helpful advice.

Ok greetings, thanks and tips tricks and yada yada. To all =)

Ok not as rude as some may think, but I'm lagging behind in thanks you's and greetings. Hitting them all at once lol ^_^

Anyway. So as for the info needed to nail the svcker down and have it removed. I didn't wait long enough to have it download. I couldn't honestly say what ad it was attached to. I do know it is a random ad that will auto try to save a pdf to your hard drive. So cycle through your page (any on falloutnexus) with the refresh a bunch of times and eventually you will have the thing try to save to your machine.

Unfortunately ad blockers won't do much as several people already mentioned none work for this nasty thing. Trying to think of any other info that could narrow things down...

In any event I wasn't bashing the site if anyone may have the wrong impression of this thread. Clearly many people rely on the nexus for getting and supplying mods to people. What more obvious place could I post relatively safe from said site other than here. Naturally I wouldn't post on the same site I'd risk screwing up my machine. Sorry, but true.

The only thing I can think of for pinning down that bug pdf is what I already suggested. Hit refresh a million ought times and make sure your browser asks you where to save files to. Incidentally I'm still angry at firefox devs for allowing files to be auto downloaded before a file location is given. So assuming you are using that or something like opera etc. Be aware that even when it asks you to save said file and you don't. It will be saving without your knowledge (I so so hate the firefox devs for not fixing this in how many years now???) in a temporary folder on your hard drive. Just the heads up.

What country are you from Wacka? I have a sneaking suspicioun that the ad is geo-targeted to the US only, or atleast not in the UK, cause I've been spamming the ads as much as possible and have yet to come across it.

Tweaks were made to the ads yesterday afternoon, perhaps you could try browsing the site now and seeing if you still come across it? Even knowing it's still there would be a great help.

Am from the US aswell and was getting them once in awhile. Since yesterday its been hassle free so your mad powerful tweaking skills seem to have obliterated the problem into nothingness  Thanks DarkOne.

There are other sites like Photobucket which are getting them constantly and even MSN has them popping up.

Thanks WackaMacka for the heads up :icecream: :cake: :icecream:

I am from the US too, and I have got them every now and then for a while.

Nothing yesterday and today though. At least not yet.

Hope it stays that way.

Yep, states too. Kinda strange big websites are getting hit also.

I can take a look at the site a little later on. I can grab a few things I need at the same time. =)

Well, so far the lil bugger hasn't popped up that I could see. It wouldn't every time beforehand either. But atleast for the past 2 or so hours of page after page it didn't come around.

Any people surfing the nexus still getting the pdf should report it here so Dark can try to pin it down and remove it for us. Don't brush it off please, if you are still getting it.

Post what country you are in and if you are still getting it. Thanks.
