This whole Moss thing is [censored]. Harvin talked crap about Childress too, but he doesn't get waived?

Moss, go back to the Patriots, and win the superbowl.

Bah,

Moss wasn't a big impact when he came back to the Viqueens, was doing his half-hearted effort things again (possibly cost them a touchdown in the back of the end zone), AND mouthed-off. Kind of like 3 strikes and you're out.

I'm just happy that a coach had the gonads to actually punish a player for gining half an effort and talking smack. Any player that doesn't give 100% deserves to be dumped

Heee, but the way the Queens are playing, they might even get the first pick overall! (let the conspiracy theories begin! ;P

Someone on another site mentioned how the Vikings are kind of inconsistent with that kind of stuff; Favre skips all the team workouts, Chilly begs him to come back, but AP skipped one workout and got reprimanded (remember that Adrian Peterson Day stuff in the offseason?). Admittedly I'd be pretty furious if I was Childress but to give up on Randy when they already paying his salary and aren't going to get the pick back is silly. The Patriots doubled him up all game and Percy Harvin had a big game.

And we'd love to have you back Randy. :D Go Pats!

Not necessarily. The Vikings filed a grievance today, which is why Moss is not officially on waivers yet. If the NFL accepts the grievance then trade will be reversed. The Patriots can refuse to take Moss back, but they'll be responsible for his contract for the rest of the season and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

What was the reason for the grievance?

What was the reason for the grievance?

The criteria for the grievance is...

1: The player in question must have performed "unadmirably" in the first four weeks of his tenure with team A.
2: Team B must have traded the player to team A within the current season.
3: The player much be non-compliant with organization by means of conduct detrimental to the team, drug problems, or injury.

Team "B" would be the Patriots, team A would be the Vikings. The third part comes from his recent fines for not complying with the media policy. Any fine for off the field incidents is considered conduct detrimental to the team. The second part obviously happened. The first part is the only part in question, since "unadmirably" is subjective (and, apparently, not a real word. Way to go NFL rule book!). The Vikings are probably hoping that play he gave up on towards the end of Sundays game will help convince the league that he wasn't playing hard, and it helps them that it just so happened to be against the Pats.

Bull-[censored], Rex "[censored] it I'm going deep" Grossman is #2 to no man in this league. And if you feel that he is, get out.

The Packers aren't a superbowl contender with the dozen+ players they have unable to play, but I think we're showing that we can compete with anyone. I think the NFC North is ours as long as the Bears continue to be mediocre.

Lol.

Troy Smith looked half-way decent on Sunday for the Niners. Perhaps he'll be a good fill in until Alex Smith comes back (if he does...). I don't think we're going to win out and take the division, but maybe a wild card or just "motivation" will happen.

I can not believe the Titans signed Randy Moss off of waivers. As good as he is, I don't care if he takes a play off every once in a while, he's still a vast improvement over their current receiving corps.

A bit surprising that no one lower claimed him.

There's no way we win a wild card. We'd have to win the division to get into the playoffs, though I think the fat lady has not only sung, but left the building.

No one higher did either. The Titans were the only team to submit a claim.

I think Childress might be on the way out.If all the talk about some players disliking him are true it might give the higher ups a reason to boot him.Although the contract they just signed would make me think other wise.

An interesting twist might be that his players respect him for admitting his mistake and having the courage to let Moss go. I have no idea if that's true or not, it just seems to me that giving away a third round pick and owning up to the debacle is somewhat admirable. In the end, though, it only comes down to performance on the field.

Moss, though, you'd think a guy would have matured just a little over the years, but maybe if you don't have to, you never do. I remember when he committed to Notre Dame way back when and was let go. Sheesh, things haven't changed much with him.

Wade Phillips has been fired. I'm shocked, I really thought Jerry Jones would keep torturing Phillips.

You mean keep torturing the fans? Oh wait, he's been doing that to us for twenty years now.

Any idea on who is going to replace him yet? I've heard rumors of Gruden or Cowher, but I can't see either of them wanting to work for Jerry Jones.

I wonder how far the regime change will go. Last night, the entire TEAM looked bad. Too bad they can't all get fired (well, actually, I wouldn't want them fired because I'm a Packfan ;)

I sure hope it's not Gruden who's going to be hired; he's too good as an announcer

No, I mean torturing Phillips. It's been clear that he's been practically begging Jerry Jones to fire him the past few weeks, I think Jones just kept him as the head coach this long out of stubbornness.

I think JJ's first choice is Jason Garrett, but if he svcks it up over the second half of the season he's going to have to go for an outside coach. To hire Gruden or Cowher JJ would have to step down as GM, and I don't see that happening. I think we'll see a coordinator from another team or a college head coach come up next season.
