Nick Valentine vs X6-88

Which companion do you use? (I personally use x6-88 right now with a laser sniper rifle). I also made him fight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqkjqB5ecTI

With base weapons X6-88 is far better. Personality-wise Nick is better. I think Nick has a better personal quest/backstory also.

But both like to stand in my way while trying to snipe stuff (as does any other companion).

I think I honestly prefer X6-88. No doubt, Nick has far more personality along with an actual backstory and quest, but I can't help but to like how stone cold X6-88 is. Nick is a bit too much of a goody two-shoes for my taste.

X6-88 is just... deeply boring.

Hmm...

A Synth detective modeled after a 1940s Noire Detective, with the memories of a pre-War cop, a compelling background where he tries to figure out his own memories versus those of said pre-War cop. Has classical snark.

vs.

A Synth with a monotone voice and who is completely about the Institute and nothing else.

Yeah, no contest here.

All you people claiming X6-88 is boring just didn't pay enough attention to him, or take him enough places - he's actually hilarious, in a subdued, low-key way. I personally like that kind of humor. Now don't get me wrong, Nick is great, but he's, well... cheesy. He's supposed to be, but still.

I choose X6.

I can admit that X6 has a few moments where he gets to pull some dry humor that's pretty funny.

Codsworth still does it better because he's British.

Took X6 to Pickman's... gallery

X6: I've used some of these techniques.

The Irishwoman is almost as bad.

Cait: I dunno, I kinda like some o' these paintings. Feels good knowing there's someone out there more mis'rable than me.

... I really don't like Cait.

X6-88 all the way. Nick is just no fun.

Agreed. He's got an amazing dry-wit to him. And he also doesn't make nearly as many annoying comments as other companions.

I think people get put off by his voice and just assume he has no personality because of it. His "affinity" moments are pretty interesting though when his 'real' personality shows through, because he shows that, no, Coursers aren't just mindless killing machines.
