To be fair those nicknames are so soft they also made me want to vomit. I bet he has to buy test boosters every time his gf calls him an adorable tiger.

so its wrong to care about someone enough to be sweet and come up w/ nicknames with an actual meaning behind them? instead of coming up with nicknames like Fool, loser, big baby, moron, big fuzzy mess, idiot, poobum, bumface, pooface, monkey man, or big beard. I get calling friends that or even bf/gf when kidding around but seriously? its no wonder that about 73% of people on this forum are single.

I don't know if "babe" and "baby" are lubby-dubby names or not. Quite frankly it doesn't matter, it's not like Im going to change my habits anyway. :P

My old girlfriend used to call me "hun" or different variations of my first name. I thought it was okay. As long as it feels right, it shouldn't matter what other people think.

I like how you used "73%" like it was derived from some sort of statistical report.

It has nothing to do with wrong. It's just very soft and it makes me cringe.

Also, lol if you think being single means you're in some way in a lesser position than others.

I agree with this point.

I'd much rather be single and happy, than be in a relationship but pissed, tense, nervous, paranoid, and broke.

But to be fair, I enjoy being in a relationship too. :P

Edit: Not that all relationships make you pissed, tense, nervous, paranoid, and broke.. but it could happen!

In moderation, I personally don't have any qualms about nicknames. But if it's "smoochiesugarhoneypoo", that's going a bit too far for my taste. :P Not currently in a relationship, but my ex used to call me "honey" and "baby" and "babe" sometimes. I don't mind, but I generally don't really use any petnames myself, just nicknames derived from the actual name of the person I'm referring to.

I think I just had projectile vomit and diarrhea at the same time. What a strange phenomenon.

Here I thought that I liked this forum because I didn't have to deal with people like you appearently I was wrong. Do you get pleasure out of demeaning other peoples habits just because you don't like it or it differs from your own? I have a perfectly good reason as to why I call her baby and my beautiful angel just like she has a perfectly good reason to call me her adorable baby tiger. But you wouldn't be one to look futher than just the way the name sounds huh? I call her baby because to me she is the most precious thing in the world and I would do anything to make sure that she doesn't come to harm just like you would any baby. Its a metaphore that goes even deeper. She calls me her tiger becuase I always want to protect her. In turn I call her my beautiful angel because I want her to believe she is beautiful because she is and when I first met her she didn't believe she is. She is my angel because she's always there for me no matter what happends no matter how far apart we are nothing can stop her from being there for me. Now before you go crisizeing other peoples life styles THINK. There could be to it than you are led to believe.

Haha, are you serious? :laugh: I don't care about your lifestyle - I just find those two words cringe worthy. And here you go type up a whole paragraph about something else totally different, and assuming a lot of things.

@tesfanner

Sorry, but I take offence to what you said. Your entitled to your opinions but theres a time and place to express them and this isn't it. I wouldn't have minded if you would just have said those two words you didn't like but you made it personal.

No I didn't. You took offense for something which had nothing to do with you. What else is there to say?

Carry on, nothing to see here.

Oh grow up will you? Like I said, I don't care what you want to call your girlfriend. I find those words cringe worthy. It's the words, not you, nor your girl. Do you get it now? :rolleyes:
