NifSkope Issue

Post » Sun Mar 27, 2011 11:43 am

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but whenever I try to open a .nif-file or even try to open NifSkope, it crashes :S I have the latest version (1.0.21)
I never had any problems with this program before.. :/ And it case it matter, I use Vista. AND, I downloaded the Windows-version ;):P

Aha, so not in Program files? Simply in the C-root directory?

Never been a problem for me. Been installed to F:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\NifSkope\ for a long time on my machine, no troubles.

One thing to note is that NifSkope uses OpenGL to display the model, whereas the game itself (and the CS) use DirectX. If the OpenGL driver for your video card is broken (like mine) then the game will work but NifSkope won't.

I'd recommend checking the drivers for your video card. nVidia and AMD/ATI both update them about monthly, so there may be a fix for your problem (or a few new ones!)

My card has the latest drivers... or at least it's supposed to :P

Not sure if it was just a typo, but the latest version of Nifskope is 1.0.22 (rev. 8329d39). If you're not running that, then you could try it.
