Nifskope question.

I've got a model of an old film camera I'm using for a mod, the problem is, the textures are not assigned to it. I've spoken to the author and I know why they're not assigned, so here's my question. If I use nifskope to assign these textures myself, will they work fine for anyone who downloads my mod? I assume yes, but I'd like to ask just to be sure. There are many separate textures for the different parts of the camera, not just one, so using a texture set is not an option (Unless there's something I don't know about texture sets).

So yeah, will this work fine for anyone who downloads my mod when it's out?

It'll work the same for everyone else as it works for you as long as you distribute all the related files with your mod.

When you put in the texture path, list it as:

textures\items\canteen\canteen.dds
NOT
C:\Program Files\Steam\Fallout New Vegas\Data\textures\items\canteen\canteen.dds

Otherwise the textures won't show up for people who don't have steam installed to the default directory. You just need the relative texture path.

If you can't see the texture on your model in Nifskope Render->Settings->Auto Update Game Paths.

Assuming the texture is showing up correctly, you correctly distribute the texture with the right file path, and the normals are correct on the mesh it should work.

Alright, that's what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation guys. :) I'll give it a shot and see how it works out, I might send out a Beta version or something once the mod is closer to completion, there's a lot of technical stuff to go still, and more scripting than I'd like :P
