what do you plan to do as a nightblade? stealth dual wield? go khajiit. stealth bow? khajiit or wood elf. melee hp leecher? well any could be good at that. the khajiit was clearly made to be a nightblade though, that much i am certain of

Technically, Dunmer are the lore-friendliest Nightblades, but this one has always preferred Khajiit claws over Dark Elf gravel-voices.

IMHO, there is no "best race for a class". Argonian is great, it receives greater heals from ALL sources. Bretons are resistant to magic. Dunmer are already discussed, same for Khajiit and Bosmer. Altmer has a higher magicka pool (I think?). Redguards are proficient in melee. Don't know about the Nords, Orsimer and Imperials. (I hope I didn't break the NDA)

Heavily depends on what you want to do.

You can be a bowman, choosing the shadow& the leeching.

The classical dual wielder, making use of all 3 class skills.

The heavy armored 2h/dual damage dealer.

You can even tank effectively due to the amount of self healing.

It depends on what you want to be.

imo the xp gain passive is worthless and i dont take it into consideration at all. at 50 it wont mean anything so i only look at the other 3. if going stealth that added damage coming out of stealth and bonus crit is really nice which makes the khajiit the best stealth melee class imo. best stealth class period really.

i think all play styles have more than 1 legit option. the khajiit is what i would consider the best because of the back stab but in a war you dont get to stealth as often so the added magic/stamina of a dark elf might help. bonus hp is always nice. i really believe each play style has multi options.the only class where i really didnt care for the passive was the argonian. i feel they got the shaft on racials. others seem to think they will be the best tanks in game. i think redguard with all the stamina bonuses will be really good

Looking at racial skills, Khajiit. 24% damage (9 damage, 15 crit damage) in stealth over any other race (well, over Bosmer only 15....)

There is no solo pvp....

Stop trying to be "the best" there is no such thing, in this pvp, using your brain to strategize will have far better results than a single guy, by the end of campaign, having a 1000-0 score, since the guys throwing themselves at the castle walls strategically will win the game and emperor.

There will be no " 1v1 me noob, i did it to ur mum" type of crap here.... and I couldn't be happier.

Nightblade stealth archer.

Bow as primary weapon. Frost staff as secondary.

You will always try to open from stealth and you will avoid melee combat as much as possible by using Shadowcloak to instantly become invisible when detected and attacked and running away to restealth. If melee combat is unavoidable, you will switch to staff and try to cc the target as well as heal yourself with Strife which you must have on the 2nd actionbar.

This is not a frontline build, this is a ganking, 1v1 build.

I think you miss understood me, most likely my fault

I like playing guarding characters, I.e. protect the flag, or node or what ever needs to be guarded

I found sith assassin good for this, in swtor, but pvp their got very boring

So I am trying to work out what class build will work for this

solo pvp skills are must for this, as you will be swamped, and die, but you need to survive just long enough for some your team mates to get back their.

From racials: Ninja-Cats, then Bosmer.

From lore: Ninja-Cats, Argonian, Dunmer, Bosmer.

From factions:

AD: Ninja-Cats, then Bosmer.

DC: Difficult. Perhaps Redguards, because stamina racials are strong.

EP: Due to lore Dunmer and of course Argonians (but to weak racials)

In Sum: Ninja-Cats

It is very apparent that people still have very flawed views of the classes in ESO.

Nightblade can be ANYTHING. Not just a stealthy assassin. You can make a pure caster or even a tank or anything in-between so nearly any race will work with a concept.

Nightblade =/= stealth assassin automatically.

In truth, no class can be better in that way. Every class have their own bonuses.
I cant discuss due NDA but all i can telll you is there is no "best nightblade" but there is "most damage dealing nightblade" that doesnt make that race best because nightblade lacks defensives, no need for extra damage

yup thats what i was trying to say. people need to think of combat roles and not classes. you can make any class do anything

True but there are skill combos and playstyles that excel at some things. For instance I'd say nightblades, while lacking defenses, have the most tools for escaping with Shadowcloak and Path of Darkness. While other classes can still sneak and deal great damage from stealth, even dragonknights, they don't also have the tools of the Shadow tree to get out of dodge.

How do you play your NB?

Because for a stamina based NB khaijit sound the best, for a magicka based NB it is quite a different story.

Khajiit seemed perfect for it. they get more crits. knightblade likes crits, dual wield = more crits, dual daggers = more crits, where medium armor for more attack speed = more crits, knightblade haste for more attack speed = more crits.

Yeah. Every profession can perform in different roles. When you ask which race is best that really depends on which role and other preferences you might have.

Eg. I'm considering playing an Argonian Nightblade healer. Argonians get potion effectiveness boost (drinking, not making) and so do Nightblades. Argonians also get a boost to healing received and Nightblades have a lot of health siphons. So there's synergy.

If you wanted to play as a dark magic user - kind of like a necromancer - Altmer, Dunmer or Breton might make more sense.

That said, my guess is that by end-game, like in the single-player TES games, most racial bonuses will be fairly small in comparison to enchants, potions etc. so also give some thought to what race you'd play if there were no bonuses. Bonuses like these are always subject to change in online games anyway.

this is something everyone should really remember. if the khajiit passives for example prove to be too good they will get nerfed.
