Night & Day Map Options

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:36 pm

I was thinking it would be sweet to have two or three options for each map regarding light conditions. For example, have a night option for Skyline or Lighthouse. I don't think it would be hard to create each option, and it would add a bit more to the game quite easily. Adding alternate Dusk, Night, Day, Fog, Rain options to the existing maps would make for some awesome DLC.

I'm surprised, I figured there would be a lot more feedback on this. It's easy for Crytek to do, and it adds variety to the existing maps.

this was possible if they release the map editor tool.

crytek will probably do this as a dlc that you can pay for, why else you think they did not released mod tools....

Yea, but imagine Lighthouse at night, with the light circling around above. It could look awesome.

if they fkin make us pay for the mod tools... idk what to say. This just makes their rep go down the fkin drain. And if it does I hope they never fkin show up again.

Sad part is the leak has it. Just another disabled feature it seems.

If they actually released those Different ToD's as Payed DLC - it would be thievery. This is why:

This is assuming Sandbox 3's ToD works the same, but my guess is it does. lol.

P.S: It will be $5 for the first variant and $5 for the second. >:D

Well thats how games are now days with DLC. They purposely lock content that is there and make more money by having us pay to unlock it. tbh im fine with that but seriously... this is a fkin tool mod which should already be there like the previous installments.

This would be a cool idea and paid DLC is a bad idea in my opinion, all it does is divide the player base into those that have certain maps and those that don't.

Still Lighthouse at night with a sweeping light would be cool.

That's exactly what I was thinking, it shouldn't be paid DLC for something so easily implemented.

Well, I don't know what triggers the weather, but I played the Sanctuary-Map in midday and another time it was filled with a lot of fog....but this isn't the same for everyone, cuz - for example - in the killcam there was no fog.

There was a bug in the multiplayer demo where I joined a server that was running Skyline, and I was wondering why my screen was so dark, but it was a bug in the time of day system and the moon was moving at an insane speed in the sky, and then eventually the sun came up and it was all normal. I must admit the night-time version of skyline was pretty cool looking for the 5 seconds I played in it.

If it didn't cost anything, it would be really cool. Skyline at night would be sweet.
