Name: Corynthias Steinbrunner
six: Male
Age: 23
Occupation: Inventor
Physical Appearance: Corynthias stands at roughly 6'2", about 210 lbs, with short, black hair and deep brown eyes.
Corynthias' right arm is replaced by a mechanical arm with all the functions of a regular human arm and hand, as well as some functions a human arm can't do. Attatched to the mechanical arm is another system that latches onto his spinal column. This system reads the signals sent from the brain to his right arm, this allows Corynthias' arm to function at the command of his brain like any normal arm would.
Since his mechanical arm prevents him from wearing conventional armor and combat gear, as protection in fights Corynthias wears hard-leather armor that doesn't get in the way of his arm. His arm also can be equipped with titanium alloy armor plating to protect the volnurable parts. In his casual life, Corynthias sticks with tight tee-shirts with the right sleeves cut off, cargo pants, and steel toed boots. On top of this he usually wears a belt containing various tools and instruments he uses in repairs for machinery and robots.
Skills: Repair, Science, Robotics, Jury-Rigging
Disadvantages: Corynthias' arm is volnurable to water damage and electrical surges. Such damage can also affect his artificial spinal column, which puts him into an unconcious state to prevent permanent brain damage.
Since the power system that keeps Corynthias' arm functioning draws energy from a small nuclear fusion battery, Corynthias cannot take Rad-X or Rad Away, or else his battery dies and his arm cannot function.
Arsenal: Corynthias' main weapon is a modified Combat Shotgun that is fed 12 gauge rounds by a bandolier in place of the usual round-drum. The shotgun is also equipped with an underbarrel combat knife bayonet. The butt of the weapon is also modified so that it doesn't damage Corynthias' mechanical arm when firing.
Corynthias' arm also acts as a sort of built-in power fist, that's capable of punching exactly 89.7% harder than most unarmed combatants. Combined with the titanium alloy armor plating covering the hands, his arm can do quite a lot of damage.
Psychological background: Corynthias is friendly if approached, but don't count on him to be the one to approach first. After the last person who constantly made fun of his mechanical arm went to the grave with a fist-sized hole in his face, not too many people comment about his arm anymore. However, Corynthias isn't really that confrontational when he hears a comment about his arm. For the most part, Corynthias does not rely on others to help him out, a mentality born out of his time as a scavenger.
Bio: Like a substantial amount of Rust City's citizens, Corynthias was not actually born within its walls. His father was a rich man swimming in caps, and his mother was his father's personal prosttute. To put it bluntly, Corynthias was a bastard son. Like most children in his situation, Corynthias never knew his father, and his mother scraqed by with what she could get. At the age of 12, his mother died giving birth to a daughter, who was to be named Hope. Unfortunately, Hope died of an early childhood disease before her first year, leaving Corynthias without any family. With no way to make a living in the settlement where he lived, Corynthias packed what little belongings he had into a bag and set out to begin his new life as a scavenger.
Exactly one year later, Corynthias was 13, and we find our unfortunate pawn scouring the shell of an old Pre-War chapel. Searching through the rubble, Corynthias found a wooden doorway leading into the basemant of the chapel. After picking through the useless scrap in every barrel and rotting box for anything of value, he noticed a small switch built into the wall of the basemant. Corynthias immediately recognized that it was a panel that opens some sort of door. With the tingle of discovery in his nervous fingers, Corynthias tentatively pressed the fading green button that would unlock a door that would change his life. However, as he waited for the tell-tale grinding of gears and motors opening the hidden door, there was only silence. Frustrated now, Corynthias tried again, pressing the green button with more force than the last. This time, however, something did happen, but not exactly as he had expected. The panel clicked twice before exploding, blowing his right arm into tatters and knocking the boy unconcious.
Of all the xenophobic lunatic scientists who leave a mine under their welcome mats, Corynthias picked the right lunatic to disturb. The same man who had blown his arm off took pity on the starving and malnurished boy he had almost killed. Using Pre-War prosthetic limb technology, the scientist rebuilt Corynthias' arm. For the next few years, Corynthias lived with Dr. Steinbrunner and his daughter, Danna-Grace, who was roughly the same age as Corynthias. Dr. Steinbrunner became the dad Corynthias never had, and Danna-Grace the sister he almost had. In the 4 years he spent with the family of two, Dr. Steinbrunner had taught Corynthias everything he knew about science, robotics, machinery, and medecine.
On his 17th birthday, Corynthias once again set off into the Wasteland, looking for a new home where he could expand his knowledge and make a living for himself. Up until the age of 22, he had spent time in many facilities, helping researchers in settlements and cities further their progress. Along his travels, Corynthias realized he had a knack for inventing useful items, and so when he found Rust City, he thought it would be a perfect place to settle down and explore his passion for science and inventing. He's been living in Rust City for just under one year now.
