Night of the Dead-OOC

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:08 pm

Before the war, there once stood a proud array of buildings where science was done; a lab if you will. By the year 2076 they had isolated a new strain of FEV and were testing on it to try and use it to their advantage. Surprisingly it was extremely stable and everything was working fine, until the months ticked over into 2077. As the first alarms screamed throughout the compound the scientists scrambled to protect their research but they were forced to evactuate and get cut down by the nuclear flames that spread across the landscape. Surprisingly the facility was not hit by any atomic weaponry, but the radiation did seep into the facility and change what the scientists had been working on; making something worse than they could ever imagine.

In 2105 a group of Vault Dwellers rose from their underground control vault and started exploring the landscape. Within a mile of their location was a set of buildings that they decided would be perfect for them, the radiation was already starting to leave the area and with ample amounts of rad-x and radaway they would be fine. As they moved their small population of less than 50 people to the set of about 10 buildings they found the experiments within the dark old labs that were spread within and underneath the buildings. Fearing the risk of something that could decimate their already small population they hid it away in a large containment room below the main testing facility.

All the research was hidden away as travellers started to visit the small area and over time people began to ask to stay with the Vault Dwellers. Realising that more people would mean less chance of being overrun by anything hostile they accepted them. More and more people flooded into the refuge and with scrap from nearby towns they created a new town that remained nameless for a long time, but the technological advancement within it was amazing considering what had happened less than a 100 years ago. Time continued to pass and a makeshift government was formed, people lived well; food was in abundance and medicine was a normal practice among the citizens.

As the people realized that the town they'd been living in for years didn't have a name a vote was held throughout the citizens to decide on it. After many arguments and debates the perfect name was put forward, Rust City; many didn't catch on to it at first but everyone ended up agreeing. The rust from the old buildings was obvious and because of the great amount of metal used for all the buildings people realised eventually they'd be swimming in rust and quite possibly kill themselves because of it. They used the name as an example as to what they didn't want their civilisation to end up as and they continued to thrive.

By 2250 there were over 1000 people within a 600 metre radius of the original 10 science labs and everyone was happy with how their lives were. Nobody died from disease or famine, attacks were rare and the people rarely rose up against the passive government. It would take something catastrophic to destroy the wonder that was Rust City...

Name:
six:
Age: [17-55]
Occupation: [Keep it realistic, it is a utopia but you can't be.. Like.. The Mayor.]

Skills: [ie. Are you a scientist? Doctor? Soldier? What are you good at]

Disadvantages: [ie. Do you have a heart condition? Vulnerable to things like colds? Try and get at least 2]

This RP is open to suggestions and anything that you think will help. History is sketchy obviously and if you have any questions please PM me or ask.

Wasn't Francois the one who gave you that link...

Off topic..

So whats the plot of this RP? It's a bit fuzzy, the name caught me as a Zombie one :)

Also, call me Names.

The plot's fuzzy for a reason. It's a psychological horror in theory, but.. Y'never know. Things could turn into a race to save humanity for all I know. Depends how you guys do things.
And yup, Zombie one is the general idea, but this IS Fallout and the FEV virus is involved.

Alrighty Names.

CS should be put in as soon as you get them done. Quicker it's there quicker I can say it's awesome or you need to tweak something.
And names: Yup, you can be NCR. Just don't be all stupid and try and take over the city because it's an Independent Government with tech capable of melting a fair few NCR soldiers before running out. Maybe part of a squad that's resting at Rust City on a patrol? Up to you. Just write it up and I'll check it.

So we don't have to be a resident of rust city we could be a visitor.

Yup. But I don't suggest being too indifferent to the population. That might make you a possible scapegoat... Or maybe you want it that way. Being a resident of Rust City will make it easier for you in the short run, in the long run being a part of a Wasteland survival group or something similar could be better in the long run.

Like the Character idea, sounds like a good sort of guy for the story idea. Bio's a tad short though, could you flesh it out a bit more by any chance?

West Coast, desert area. It's pretty forlorn but there's an underground water reserve nearby which is where they get pure water from. Food is also abundant because of farms.

I don't condone double posts! XD Just to give a bit of an idea about me and who you're dealing with as a GM... Here's my CS:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Andrew Pavlic
six: Male
Age: 17
Occupation: Student-Studying medicine

Physical Appearance [Including clothing/Armour]: Worn and faded green jeans with a black belt. Also wears a blue cloth shirt with the words “A Twist in my Story” written in faded letters across it. Has medium length dark brown hair with deep brown eyes, looks younger than he is.

Skills: Plays guitar, good at keeping people’s spirits up, friendly.

Disadvantages: Has never shot a gun in his life, highly emotional, grows strong emotional attachments extremely easily.

Arsenal: ANZAC army knife [Same as a Swiss Army Knife but has a ‘Made in Australia’ inscribed on it]

Psychological background: Overreacts to situations, in a bad situation thinks it’s the end, in a good situation think everything will always be fine. Empathic-Can manipulate/understand other’s emotions extremely well.

Bio: Andrew was born in Rust City and brought up as a gentle loving person, he was given a lot as he was an only child. His Father is a well-known musician and his mother a teacher, so he grew up knowledgeable and with a good sense of music. He learnt guitar at a young age but never really got good at singing as his voice didn’t suit the songs he loved.

After he finished at the school he was one of the few who were chosen to study a course of his choice, he chose medicine and is looking forward to learning more than he already does. He’s gone through 2 terms and is enjoying his course. Has had only one relationship and thinks himself stronger because of it, only because she left him behind because of personal problems and he never really forgave her for it.

Other info: This is what Andrew generally looks like, sounds like.. And a sample of the basic music he likes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk3hocdidFY
[Before any of you ask… Yus, that is me IRL.]
