We already have a Character Sheet for normal infected, and I think Aussie was a bit off the mark when he posted his version. So here's my spin on the normal infected.
Type: Normal Infected
Rarity: Most common
Appearance: Normal infected closely resemble feral ghouls, with an emaciated figure and grey, flaky skin that literally falls off the body. The virus eats most of the flesh unessential to the host, leaving only major muscles and most vital organs. The veins are pronounced and pulse with a thick green and red mixture of blood and FEV. Over time, blood is completely replaced by the FEV. Their eyes are covered in cataracts, and they glow red when first infected, but eventually glow green as the FEV replaces the blood.(Hint: as the story continues, you're all going to be covered in green shlop. Hope you don't mind.)
Strengths:-High pain tolerance- Normal infected don't seem to mind that their limb just fell off their body.
-Strength- If angered, normal infected can flip cars in order to get what they want (notice I didn't say "lift" cars, flipping them over is about it)
-Agility- By far the most agile of all the infected, they have full range of motion with all their limbs, and for their size they are the fastest of all the infected
-Senses- Normal infected rely on smell to guide them to unmutated flesh, and their sense of hearing is heightened also.
Weaknesses:-Weak Structure- Since most of their body has been consumed by the virus, their bones are weak, and blunt force is enough to break multiple bones and puncture vital organs. In most cases, a shot to the upper torso or head is enough to put them down. Removing a limb will slow it down, and the confused beast will often stop to marvel at the stump where its arm or leg once was before continuing to attack its victim.
-Unintelligent- Normal infected don't actually use the brain, as most of the brain has been eaten away by the FEV, save for a few parts that manage the senses. Consequently, infected have no thought process, and simply attack whatever they eat.
-Nervous system- Despite popular belief, the infected don't need to be shot in the head to kill them. Destroying the brain or skull will only render the infected senseless, and unable to find its prey. After the head is destroyed, the confused beast will simply wander, walking around and flailing its limbs at whatever it touches. The spinal column is what controls the infected, severing the spinal column in any place won't kill the infected for good, but it will reduce it to a twitching mass of uncoordinated muscle.
-The heart- The FEV uses the heart to pump the virus throughout the body so it can be controlled. Damaging the heart or any major artery in the torso will kill the infected in only a few minutes.
-Vital organs- Though some of the vital organs have been consumed by the virus, the stomach, digestive system, and lungs still remain intact. Damaging these vital organs won't kill the infected immediately, but over time it will become weak and die.
Hope this helps clarifies things for now. Later I'll be posting another sheet like this for the infected inside the lab complex.
