Night of the Dead-OOC 2

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:59 pm

Maybe this time we shouldn't fill the Thread up instantaneously?

Still accepting ideas, all other references can be seen through last Thread, going through and getting all the info isn't smart for me in my current state. <.<

I entered a couple picture to illustrate their changes, as they become more ghoul like.

Just for fun, heres what a http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=zombie+bite#/d2zqjcu looks like.

Refer to this if anyone in the group gets bitten.

We already have a Character Sheet for normal infected, and I think Aussie was a bit off the mark when he posted his version. So here's my spin on the normal infected.

Type: Normal Infected

Rarity: Most common

Appearance: Normal infected closely resemble feral ghouls, with an emaciated figure and grey, flaky skin that literally falls off the body. The virus eats most of the flesh unessential to the host, leaving only major muscles and most vital organs. The veins are pronounced and pulse with a thick green and red mixture of blood and FEV. Over time, blood is completely replaced by the FEV. Their eyes are covered in cataracts, and they glow red when first infected, but eventually glow green as the FEV replaces the blood.(Hint: as the story continues, you're all going to be covered in green shlop. Hope you don't mind.)

Strengths:-High pain tolerance- Normal infected don't seem to mind that their limb just fell off their body.
-Strength- If angered, normal infected can flip cars in order to get what they want (notice I didn't say "lift" cars, flipping them over is about it)
-Agility- By far the most agile of all the infected, they have full range of motion with all their limbs, and for their size they are the fastest of all the infected
-Senses- Normal infected rely on smell to guide them to unmutated flesh, and their sense of hearing is heightened also.

Weaknesses:-Weak Structure- Since most of their body has been consumed by the virus, their bones are weak, and blunt force is enough to break multiple bones and puncture vital organs. In most cases, a shot to the upper torso or head is enough to put them down. Removing a limb will slow it down, and the confused beast will often stop to marvel at the stump where its arm or leg once was before continuing to attack its victim.
-Unintelligent- Normal infected don't actually use the brain, as most of the brain has been eaten away by the FEV, save for a few parts that manage the senses. Consequently, infected have no thought process, and simply attack whatever they eat.
-Nervous system- Despite popular belief, the infected don't need to be shot in the head to kill them. Destroying the brain or skull will only render the infected senseless, and unable to find its prey. After the head is destroyed, the confused beast will simply wander, walking around and flailing its limbs at whatever it touches. The spinal column is what controls the infected, severing the spinal column in any place won't kill the infected for good, but it will reduce it to a twitching mass of uncoordinated muscle.
-The heart- The FEV uses the heart to pump the virus throughout the body so it can be controlled. Damaging the heart or any major artery in the torso will kill the infected in only a few minutes.
-Vital organs- Though some of the vital organs have been consumed by the virus, the stomach, digestive system, and lungs still remain intact. Damaging these vital organs won't kill the infected immediately, but over time it will become weak and die.

Hope this helps clarifies things for now. Later I'll be posting another sheet like this for the infected inside the lab complex.

Zombie CS are still going up if anyone has time for them. And Xivilai... That's a massive win post, love it.
I might work on a special type of zombie myself... One that only cames out at night..

@ Captain Rex, yes.

@ Reidster, the Protectrons have to boot up, and you have 15 seconds before they do so.

No, your right down the street, make a run for it. Even if you pull up the rear you could still make it in 12 tops.

Alrighty Aussie. And sorry guys for the quick jump ahead, I just thought it was better than YOUR plan. 30 zombies? Even with a grenade, odds of it taking out more than 10 are low... So you have 20-odd injured zombies running full pelt at you.

... That's a bit suicidal.

I was going to say I was actually beginning to think my character was lucky not being with your kamikazi group for a second there. My character will be back with the group in a few posts, probably with some supplies and medical equipment.

So while all the infected are sleeping I could sneak in...?

I have an idea in mind that doesn't involve fighting through hundreds of the infected, so you need not worry about me.

... The infected don't sleep. They're not living anymore, they don't need rest. Sleep is used to repair our bodies, cell-damage etc. The Zed repair themselves over time, so they have no need for sleep.

In fact, night is the worst time... I have a Zed Sheet I'm gonna put up after tonight to explain what the heck happened. XD

IMPORTANT NOTE TO MOUSE:

The ghoul/zed I killed was actually the janitor of the apartment complex (his name was Reggie  ), and if the protectrons are asking for identification, you can grab that from his clothes and use it to get upstairs. But I think you should hurry, because you have about 10 seconds.

Do you mean take over for good or takeover for now? If it's for good... Gah. Once we hit the nightphase, stuff will progress however you want it.
But it's up to you.

I think Captainrex's character is dead now, so that's one less mouth to feed.
