Well, I thought I could get it built by the time the Crysis 3 beta was released but I found out my RAM was bad, and then I found out that my motherboard was bad and after RMA-ing the motherboard Amazon had run out of stock so I totally missed out on the beta.
Amazon was still out of stock and the C3 release date was approaching so I went as far ordering a RIVE from Amazon.co.jp ( Amazon Japan ) but then they received stock on the 18th the DAY Tenso ( the Japanese forwarding service that ships the items I buy in Japan to me ) received it from the Yamato Transport Co. Fortunately I can return my Amazon.co.jp order from Tenso and in the meantime I ordered my motherboard ( again ) from Amazon U.S.
The motherboard should be arriving tomorrow, but yesterday I was so eager to try out Crysis 3 that I tried playing it on a laptop with a GPU the equivalent of a Quadro FX 600. Needless to say I had I horrible experience. My framerate maxed out at 15FPS. Aiming was almost impossible -- it was like I was drunk. The 17in screen was so small I would always loose track of the situation. In short, I was lucky if I scored 1 kill per game. This is in comparison to the Alpha which I played on my PC where I regularly got 7+ killstreaks, got the swarmer in almost every game, and got max suit many times with an overall excellent K/D ratio.
So, due to my impatience, it looks like I f-ed up my stats in my newly minted C3 account with newbiish scores. Fortunately I only played for under an hour or less but this reminds me of the "bad old days" when I started out C2 as a newbie, got raqed, and my stats never recovered even when I was at maximum rank and doing well. I should have just waited until tomorrow -- oh well.
I'll see you guys ( barring any more trouble ) when I get my system built and I'll be sure to post pics.
As it is now I haven't played Crysis in any form ( save for the short time with the laptop ) for over a month.
