Nightmarish levels of lag in and around goodsprings :(

Yeah this is becomming ridiculous and i cant figure out what is going on but basically, my game has become massively laggy around goodsprings for no apprent reason, huge stuttering, sound lagging totally lagging and the enviroment it self is a big laggy too, is it the number of mods i have?? Im pretty sure ive done all the relevent INI tweaks, have the NV stutter remover alsong side, CASM, Purge Cell Buffers, Better Game Performance V4 and all that and i dont have and "outdoor" based texture enchancers at all :S.

Indoor perfect, doesnt matter what is happening within reason lol, no lag or stutter at all.

Mjaority of it is around goodsrpings which makes the area unplayable, rest of the world isnt so bad but couldbe improved.

Also, vendors seems to be crashing when acessing them too. waited 4 days inside empty cells and still crashing.

My mod list is provided below, if anyone can pinpoint any mod that might be instensely script heavy or graphically demanding or otherwise a general laggy nuisence, id be greatly appreciated :)

And as you can see, i dont have any graphical overhauls the closest i have is nevada skys.

I get major lag whenever I get near anyplace that has a few lights and NPCs, such as Goodsprings, 188,
Primm etc, it becomes a slide show, and if i don't take my hand off the mouse and stop moving it,
I will lock up the computer, so I have to wait a few seconds for everything to "get loaded" or for the computer to 'catch up'

I don't know whether it's IWS or Electro City, but I'm wondering if one of them is really script heavy,
because whenever I get near a place with Lights and People, I may as well be playing a series of paintings
than a video game.

The mods we have in common are

IWS
Advanced Recon tech & gear
Darnified
XFO
Purge Cell Buffers
CASM
Nevada Skies URWLified
Shiloh DS Colored Maps and Icons

I have one called Reactive People also, but it's called "Reactive People II - Sneak & Diversion"

Yeah, ive got reactive people too but i think you could be right that IWS MAY be the culprit.

The annoyin thing is that it doesnt "load" the area at all :(, i've literally left the game alone for 10 minutes and its done fork all, the camera rotating from docs house seems to lag about 60% of the time circling me, looking towards to hillside graveyard, the tower and goodsprings cavern locations, nevermindwalking around, my computer specs arent even a factor really im not even running AA or AF, something is really having a good go, had IWS removed for a while before but it was still farily bad, i just cant pinpoint it :S.

- With Nevada Skies deactivated, Goodsprings runs pretty smoothly.
- With both Nevada Skies and Electro City v9B (esm version) active, I can't enter or exit the Prospector Saloon without freezing.
- With Nevada Skies active and no Electro City, I can visit the Saloon as I please but Goodsprings is still lag city.

An earlier version of Nevada Skies works fine as did an older version of Electro City featuring its own Nevada Skies replacer.

So that's Nevada Skies in common amongst the three of us with lag problems....
the sky textures are 1024x1024 32 bit

I'm going to assume for Number #1, you mean that Nevada Skies is Deactivated but Electro City isn't?

If so, that basically means

Nevada Skies - 0 / Electro City - 1 = Good
Nevada Skies - 1 / Electro City - 1 = Bad
Nevada Skies - 1 / Electro City - 0 = Bad

Just for thoroughness, did you test
Nevada Skies - 0 / Electro City - 0 ?

Maybe I'll just disable Nevada skies.....worth a shot

Cool.

I've disabled Nevada Skies, and am now just using URWL and Electro City with Emittor
and am only getting a tiny bit of expected stutter, before it was like looking at a series of oil paintings.
I''ve only used it for a short time, so I'm going to head to the strip where I used to really choke up and do the slide-show thing
and see how that goes

Damn! for me is isnt just Nevada Skies its something else :S, tried getting rid of IWS, no change really, gah i still think its NVAMP which adds "goodsprings filler" which is causing the issue.

Now another problem i have, crashing with vendors, cant buy anything or sell anything because as soon as i click show me your stuff or w/e it crashes...any idea what that could be guys? ive waited countless days for vendors to respawn too :(

Hard to say really, You, me and ghoulsrpeople2 both mentioned the same problem and the mods we have in common
that could be causing them.

However, I don't use nVamp, and it's possible that one or a few of the mods on your list are incompatible with it,
from reading the nVamp website they've narrowed the compatibility scope from 40+ mods to an essential 7,
so there's a possibility you've got something that conflicts.

It's possible you might have something in your inventory that causes the vendor to crash when the inventory menu tries to open.
Try dropping all your stuff outside the store, and go in and see if the game crashes.

I used to CTD when buying Caravan Cards, I played it once, it's a stupid game, so I never bothered buying them again.

I once pickpocketed a named weapon from a guy in McCarren AFB, and after that, I'd CTD every time I tried to enter McCarren AFB.

It's possible you might have something in your inventory that causes the vendor to crash when the inventory menu tries to open.
Try dropping all your stuff outside the store, and go in and see if the game crashes.

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU!!!! :D! you were absolutely right!!!!! I was wondering what was causing a crash in my pipboy from ages ago, i thought it was something to do with scrolling to quickly through my weapons but no!!! It was indeed an item within my inventory :D!

It was "ThatGunM" from AworldOfPain mod! So i just used the trusty old command of: player.removeitem and viola!! it worked! no more crashing in pipboy and most importantly....*drumroll*...no more crashing in vendors!!! Brillaint!

Thank you so much ^^, a brilliant shout, as i would never have put two and two together :D!

Bless the community :), i'm so very grateful ^^.

Now if only i could completely squash the goodsprings lag but now im not too fussed, as it is a bit better without nevada skies :).

Goodsprings Filler only adds a few NPCs and doors to interior cells into the game world. If you wish to double check you should install Goodsprings Filler, load the game up seperately and play with only Goodsprings Filler enabled. Please let me know if it still causes a problem.

i never could get NVamp to work. I finally just wiped it away completely. I found it all too confusing about what went with what and having to go all over to round up essential files. Since the whole idea was to make everything play nice together it seemed self-defeating.

Thanks for that tip. And thanks to Dramne for pointing out That GunM. I played through Dead Money without one crash. When I got back to the wasteland I started having crashes again. I found that I had both That Gun and That GunM and had given them to Ed-E. I just got rid of it.

I wish we had a mod like the one for Oblivion, which lets you identify which objects came from what Mod. That was a life saver.

They're two completely different mods doing completely different things :shrug:

Nevada Skies = weather, rain, snow, sandstorms
Electro City = lights, workers, power plant
