Nintendo 3DS

It's undeniably a cool little gadget but I don't know if it's actually worth spending all that money on. I might buy it when the price drops significantly.

It looks cool but 250 is way too high of a price. Maybe when it gets down to 150 to 175 I'll think about it but as of right now I'm not getting it.

Ain't that the truth. Either way, I'm pretty sure it's going to print money IN 3D!

I would like to buy it, except:

1. It's $250, and I'm already looking to save up enough for a new Xbox 360 ($300), so even if I had the money, which I don't, I'd buy a Xbox 360 first.
2. The battery life is awful, and you just know that Nintendo's going to release a new version with drastically improved battery life and other features in ~2 years that will put the initial release model to shame.
3. And because of #2, even if I did have the money and already had a Xbox 360, I'd just wait for the next version in ~2 years.

If I remember correctly, the 5 hour battery life is only with the 3D on. Without it the battery life is higher, but not by much.

Their website says 3-5 hours, 5-8 for regular DS games (which obivously aren't 3D), and "may be much less depending on operating conditions"

I think you should be able to squeeze at leats three more hours out of the ting with the lowest light setting.

Changing the brightness is listed as making regular DS games as lasting 8 hours. That means the absolute best you can hope for (disable 3D, lowest brightness level) is 8 hours for 3DS games too, though I suspect that won't be obtainable on 3DS games.
