This universe has formed over the years into something great, amazing, and beautiful, at least to me. So, I decided it is time I create in-real time, where you can see and feel the experience; rather then just on words but in game.
So let's begin with the basic understanding, what is Nirdura? Nirdura is a continent; the continent is comprised mostly of Desert and Oasis, with some jungle. Nirdura itself is split into two halves, East and West, and each half has their respective rulers and kingdoms.
Eastern Nidura holds the capital, Saode, as West Nirdura has the respective Sister-capital, Saede. Nirdura in whole, both East and West, at the time is ruled by a powerful Lord known as Aknur. Aknur is called the Lord of the Red Sands and the name is fitting.
Basically, this mod will be comprised of five-parts, each one involving a specific continent in my world that I created.
[How does this fit with Lore?]
Well, for the most part, it doesn't. In-fact I am completely using my imagination. Nirdura is in no way connected to the Elder Scrolls. However, for the story, it goes something like this:
History, Lore:
Aknur, Lord of the Red Sands came unto power eons ago, during the council of five. The Council of five had long ruled Nirdura before and had kept it's rich-history in-tact, it kept the whole realm at balance. Of course wars still found their way into circumstances and plague and pestilence, but for the most part the citizens of Nirdura had been accompanied by peace and prosperity and a fair and just law [As close as fair and just that is possible anyways].
Aknur, during the time was a boy, a boy whose parents simply never were there and he struggled because of that. Because of the lack of parents, he was not taught how to respect, he was not taught discipline nor love nor kindness. Aknur struggled with the harsh life-styles of the Desert, turning to stealing and killing for means of survival. he struggled and eventually became wayward and he began to withdrawal from the crowd he associated with; mostly groups of rogues and bandits.
As he withdrew from everyone, a new train of thought began to transpire, which eventually would lead to his lasting reign of power. [He thought he needed power, to give himself, to give those who couldn't survive by-themselves, a chance at life]. This sent him on a course of years of training, and doing so he grew strong, too strong, and as the power progressed, his path of noble intentions began to quiver as well. In 600 a.e., the Red-Year, the year of the Twin-gods, Aknur infiltrated the Council of five, setting himself up as Lord of East Nirdura. The councilman, Alik' Sutoh, named after the great Sutoh generation, Who currently resided and reigned over Saode, the great Capital, was slain, assassinated by unknown circumstances.
Of Course at the time, no one knew what to think, but Alik' Sutoh was a very-loved man, a man of righteousness and kindness and peace. As All of Eastern Nirdura mourned, Aknur stepped in, winning them over with snake-like charm and deception. He offered them the same that Alik had done, and in place, he condemned and charged an innocent man with the assassination of the well-beloved Alik' Sutoh. The public went for it, and soon the whole nation cursed the man they say killed Alik. They cursed the name Marakkesh. This was merely the beginning.
Aknur, as time passed fell in love, and as his true-self had not been seen by anyone other then himself, the marriage they eventually had was a wonderful and glorious day, not only for the Aknur but for the entire Eastern Nirdura. This marriage would finally unite East and West as one. No longer would the ruling families of both do as they please and select laws at whim, but instead all of it would be held under the "Just laws of Aknur." Most-every citizen from all four corners of all of Nirdura went to the wedding and they showered Aknur and his new beloved wife with gifts and gold and blessings.
Eventually, as time passed, Aknur grew more and more powerful and began to drift away from his relationship with his wife and kids; His rule tightened, and the people began to resent him. But the council and his family seemed oblivious to the change, insisting he was still the same as always. It wasn't until the day of the Red-Massacre, did anyone fully realize the threat he posed to not only freedom but life itself.
698 a.e., year of the Desert Sun, i.e. the Aphael, Aknur invited the entire council to a party, which was customarily held by his loving wife, and the families of each councilman attended along with Aknur's own. The Great families came as well, accompanied by the ruling houses, [mid-class] and so on and so forth. Here, the tide of things changed Drastically, during the feast, Aknur ordered everyone slaughtered and without restraint. His wife, children, along with the families and the members of each house, councilman, and high-lords were brutally slaughtered by Aknur's troops. This secured his position as the ultimate ruler. He now had complete power over East and West Nirdura, power that was unrestrained. The horror of this massacre was detailed later on by a servant boy, who ironically, was the illegitimate son of Marakkesh. [No one knew this, not even Aknur].
This boy was known as Marekashi. This horror set Marekashi up to resist Aknur and rebel against his authority. For a 100 years, Marekashi resisted Aknur, thwarting him often and receiving a title of great renown in the meantime. But even the heart of Marekashi was not immune to the corruption of darkness, and he too fell. Although Marekashi was had not become twisted and power hungry like Aknur, he grew cold to emotion from time to time, which led to him slaying his closest-friend and brothers. Then, 15 years later Marekashi vanished, and the hopes of the people vanished and the rebellion was quickly squashed.
Now at the peak of power any mortal could obtain, Aknur sought more, he desired to be deitized, to become a god of sorts, and so it lead him down a path of religious pursuit. The universe he lived in, the reality he knew, had been created somehow, and he sought it, to learn of it, and in all Audacity, remove the god-heads that formed it all. It is not directly known how, but he found the means to usurp the power of the reigning gods, and in doing so, learned of so much that he never thought possible. He learned of worlds beyond his own, beyond his existence and dimension, beyond his reality and in learning so he strove to conquer them, to usurp them into his own, ever expanding a kingdom that never ends and ever expanding the glory and power he held and the expanding the inflating arrogance and pride that determined him.
The first realm to be usurped into his reality, [in taking the power of the gods of his existence, dimension, he became capable to do so, leaving the once immortal deities as empty husks of themselves], was Thyus, a mountainous world, with many mighty-nations and various geography. He quickly conquered them and moved on to the next realities/dimensions. The second to fall was, the rugged lands of Ornae, the third, Tepall, the fourth was Ahelowhen, and finally the fifth was the mysterious worlds of Yagmras.
[Basic Storyline for the mod?]
The Mod begins with the appearance of the continent of Nirdura in Mundus, specifically taking place in Tamriel. The continent of Nirdura is due far-east of Morrowind, Where half-of-the-story is taking place, the other half of the story will take place in Morrowind.
The point of this, As I speculate that other realities exist that is beyond Mundus, beyond Nirn, and so on and so forth; how this will fit in, is based off of Aknur's goal, which his goal is not known yet, that has to be learned. But, the Story of this so far, for the first part, is to try and Find the Tipping point of Nirdura, and balance it before Aknur spirals it into chaos. Aknur is planning on Conquering Tamriel, and eventually the others, he plans on eradicating the Daedric Princes as they pose a good threat. that's what he is doing, but his intentions truly are not known.
The whole story, is:
To find the turning points in Morrowind, Nirdura, Thyus, Ornae, Tepall, Ahelowhen, and Yagmras, and prevent Aknur from sending each realm into a state of inescapable chaos.
Find a lost hero whose heart has fallen to darkness, and save him.
Find a way to stop the god-slayer, [Aknur] and prevent him from conquering any other realms.
+ others.
