Nirnroots respawning?

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 6:39 am

Ok I have asked this another time but I have not received a clear cut answer. Do the nirnroots respawn at all. I have also read online they do do and I have also read they do not. Now can somebody tell me if they do or not please, and thank you.

I have seen them respawn. So yes, they do in Skyrim.
They don't in Oblivion.

99% sure they do, even though lore-wise they shouldnt.

Thank you all. Now it could be possible they respawn because Sindarian found a way to save them. That was his purpose in Oblivion.

They supposedly respawn at Avrusa Sarethi's farm. She is quest related, I believe her farm is west of Riften. I picked her Nirnroot, but never returned to find out if they respawn.

Seems there is nothing that doesn't respawn in this game.
Why in the world would they make nirnroot respawn? Talk about following their own lore.

In past games Nirnroot was something special, in Skyrim it's just another grass.

I was just curious about them respawning. If I recall correctly I am pretty sure Sindarian was trying to save the plant he might have found a way for them to grow again freely. Do not know the answer might be around in Skyrim somewhere.

This. I miss that feeling knowing they were of a limited quantity

Some NPCs in the game even mention it not growing back once harvested. It's actually slightly disappointing to see they didn't have it match what you're told in game about it.

Spoiler
Crimson Nirnroot might be a one shot deal, though I haven't been back to the site where they are found to check if they respawn.

Nirnroots are not supposed to respawn. But it seems that they do. I keep plucking those ringing things hoping I won't hear them again. However, they do not seem to respawn in all the areas they are picked. I have not gone back to all areas that I have harvested, but some areas seem to stay clear of them.

I think it may be more of cell render issue than a plant respawning. However, until we get the editor, it will be hard to figure out just what this plant is supposed to do.

I'm fairly certain I picked up a book on nirnroots in my travels but did not read it (it's on my to-do list). Perhaps the answer to why they seem to respawn nowadays is in the book?

I know Ive picked a crimson nirnroot from the same spot a few times.
Seems they respawn too, or at least some of them.

That is odd indeed I thought the crimson nirnroot did not respawn. I am almost a hundred percent sure I have picked the regular nirnroot from the same places before. This could very well be a bug instead of something that is supposed to happen.

I kept ahold of all mine for a while thinking that I'd be able to make a treasure finding potion or something lol. Now I just use them for poisons.

I can't find it on the wiki but does anyone know the respawn rate of Nirnroot?

That might have been the intention, but something went wrong somewhere.
After all, the Nirnroot counter makes no sense at the moment (other than being a nod to Oblivion).

Crimsons have the exact same effects as greens (so if you combine them then you find all their effects)

not sure on spawning although i suppose you'd mess up the crimson quest if you accidentaly used to many and they did not respawn
