Nmc's Texture packs

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:11 pm

So im looking for enhancing the visuals of FO3, came across NMCs texture pack. Looks like a good place to start, but what else should get? These are my other mods, not sure if they will get in the way. FWE, MMM, EVE, WMK, Fellout, Street Lights, Wasteland Street Lights, xCaliber Ammo Pack, Project Beauty, 20th Century Weapons, xCaliber Munitions, and Col Enclave Armor Replacements.

I tried one that adds leaves to the trees, looks nice especially with Fellout. But it gave me a little system lag and even with the draw distance set at max, it annoyed me how i could see the trees all appearing off in the distance. Also tried some greener grass, didnt like that since it make the grass look too fake. Thinking out even getting rid of fellout and going with something that is more gloomy. Also installed some enhanced night sky along with a hi res moon mod and one that made the moon bigger, night time looks good. Just not sure with fellout that the light from the moon is lighting up the night properly.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6550 has a lot of different weathers to choose from. Some are bright and happy, some hellish, some gloomy.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1390 makes the skies clearer and not stupidly dark at night.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1214 is a pretty subtle grass mod. It looks really natural.

I can recommend Dynamic Weather for more, well dynamic weather. Lots of different weather types and if there's some you don't like, very easy to edit them out. Or to make some other weather types be more common. You can basically tailor the weather to your own liking.

I can also warmly recommend Fellout's Greener Grass (standalone small esp) if you just want a little green mixed in with the rest and without transforming the wasteland into a golf course fairway. To me it has just the right amount of green, and a not too green color at that.

I couldn't agree more. I've actually been working on-and-off on a terrain overhaul that adds grass TO the existing terrain instead of replacing it like most of those mods do. With the grass added into cracks of rocks and asphalt it really gives it a natural look. I need to tweak it some more before release, but this is slow going as it changes almost all of the terrain textures. Hopefully I'll have a beta release soon. Mixing this with fellout and dynamic weather give the game an http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/818/screenshot74.png http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/733/screenshot48w.png
