It has been ten years since the horrid events in the vault. Many have died and suffered the overseer wrath, but now it is in the past. People say there prays for loved ones in the memorial but the vault now thrives. The ex head technician has temporally stepped up as Overseer. A new security chief has come and made vault security into people that you could look up too. The vault doctor has many friends from the lives she saved, and the new Overseer second in commande stand bt his side. All is well animal’s roam the hallways children playing fetch with dogs and cuddling with their cat. But is this all to good to be true? The adventure in the vault continues outside of the vault!

Ares Warren

Ares Warren, now 35, stood tall and proud among his fellow gaurds. Ares had changed quite much, acquiring a scruffy beard along with a buzz cut. His complexion had deepened, making him look older and much more respectful. His eyes had also deepened, replacing the once wild and confused eyes with kind and compassionate eyes. Ares trully looked like a succesful man, despite his grizzly past. Even now the flashbacks occasionaly came back. The flashbacks of the dead men and women, killed by the past overseers relentless control. It had been a trully horrible part of his life, and he would never forget it.

The conference room seemed to be covered in flowers. They were not real flowers, of course, but fake ones that had the names of the dead inscribed on the outside of them. It was a memorial service, held in the honor of those who gave their lives 10 years ago. The vault had held one on the fifth year anniversary as well, but for Ares this one seemed much more special. As several relatives of the dead made short speeches, the gaurds listened intently. They were no longer brainwashed men, but real men that the citizens could trust. Ares had made sure of this.

When the last relatives finished, Ares took the stand. The room was quite crowded, something Ares had expected. Clearing his throat, Ares began his short speech.

"Citizens and gaurds, workers and most importantly...friends. Ten years ago the citizens of this vault united together to overthrow an evil man and end the testing at this facility once and for all. In all 52 humans lost there lives that unfortunate day. It was trully an act of bravery, and I know none of us will forget what they did."

Several of the citizens shouted cries of agreement, and after several seconds they started to applaude.

"But now, we must continue what we are doing. Continue my friends, to keep this vault in order. If we fail all humanity could be at risk. Thank you!"

And with that Ares left the stand. Applaud arose from the crowd once more, and Ares couldn't help but feel proud of himself. He trully had turned his life around. He was honored, respected, and most of all, looked up to. Even though everything seemed well, Ares couldn't keep his mind of something that had been bugging him for a while now.

What happened to the world? What happened to the sprawling cities and massive skyscraqers that towered over what had once been the United States? Was there any civility, and love, anything outside? No one would trully know until they visited themselves. Until they opened the massive vault door, and plunged into the void of the wasteland.

Now 35 ten years since that horrid event I tried sitting up my back refused I’ve done too much damage to this thing a man walked on the stage.


Ares Warren the security chief was a good man well respected. We were in good hands with him around, ""But now, we must continue what we are doing. Continue my friends, to keep this vault in order. If we fail all humanity could be at risk. Thank you!"

I nodded slightly in agreement and clapped, I stood up and approached the memorial of the lost. I picked a picture up it was a group of men in the military. I saw my old friend Victor, "Rest if peace old pal." I mumbled and left the room. The vault was doing great a little girl ran by chasing a friend I looked in a room seeing a lady playing with a puppy of hers. And then I came to my room I pressed the panel. I was thrown pack my dog was licking me to death! I laughed scratching her ears she let out a bark," Come on Nova the German Shepard ran inside and jumped on my bed.

I thought to myself, a perfect name for a perfect dog. I hopped on the bed beside her and scrubbed her belly.

"Ten years." Nario thought, sliding his fingers over the picture. "Its the anniversary of the year my mother, father, and brother were murdered. But I was able to save one." He looked to Akira who was drawing something with Elenor. Akira's and his vision were now almost completely healed.
Akira was twenty four and he was twenty nine at this point.
"Ten years since the world ended... And the Overseer's reign."

They had been heroes that day. They all had. Yet no one knew his name.
Countless people claimed to had been the ones who finished off the Overseer. And none of them were Nariko.
That was the way he liked it. Ares, Matt, Smits, and Sophia had countless friends and fans now. Nariko was much happier to watch the constant regards and admirations from the people around them.
Along with that, there had only been one unsolved crime in the vault in the past ten years. And it was something that had been at the back of Nariko's mind, laying dormant for the past ten years.

The important thing was that everyone was happy and living normally and well in the vault. Yet for three years after the death of the Overseer, Nariko hadn't been very happy.
Things had been to perfect. That wasn't the life he had always had. He was used to constant conflict, prejudice, slander, and death.
In a twisted way it had effected Nariko to the point where he didn't see the point in much of anything. Akira was happy and safe, his closest friends where revered by the vault, and he was completely and utterly safe.
This messed with him for three years until...

"I think I'm pregnant Nariko." Adalyn said, placing her hand on his shoulder.
He had been watching Ares' announcement from the TV in the living room.

"Wait, what?" Akira asked, leaning on the doorway to her room.

"Whoa! Whoa, isn't that for me to say?" Nariko asked, standing up from the couch in shock.

"What?" Adalyn asked, giving him an odd look.

"Not you. Her!" Nariko said, pointing to Akira.

They both looked at him, suppressing smiles.
Then Adalyn's eyes narrowed and she said, "I decided to tell you casually while your friend gave his speech..."

"Casually?! I don't know how to think of bomb shells when they're dropped casually!" He ranted. "I can tell you plenty of things casually! I had a cup of tea this morning, oh by the way I also killed my father while I was at it. See? It just doesn't work!"

"Well you sure are taking this one... differently than I expected." Adalyn said.

a good man, I'm glad he managed to turn the gaurds into something people can look up too, if only he could of done it sooner... we wouldn't needed to have a uprising or a memorial service....

With Ares speech over, Matthew left the room and walked to Overseers office....

Whilst Matt had only temporarily stepped in to become the Overseer, he had stayed on and had been the Overseer for the last ten years after the winning the Election, something that surprised Matt as he had never liked Politics nor had been a candidate…

Walking into the office, Matt locked the door and opened the secret Passage under his desk that he had discovered on 5th anniversary of the ex- Overseers downfall and walkthrough though the tunnel and until he reached the main Vault door and opened it…

A man, rotting dead flesh and little hair was waiting outside…. “ Hello son” he said…

Thanks to the Overseer I was allowed to drink. I took a swig of rum, after a period of time I was wasted. I stumble out of bed my head spun to the side I laughed. "Stay her, I lost my words. Um dog." I walked out a door and stumbled into a guard. "Hey you, I leaned against him. Get out of my you drunk." I said to him.

The guard looked at me and smiled. "Looks like you have drinking a bit too much buddy. Don’t worry I'll let you loose I know who you are." I guard wondered down the hall spinning his baton.

I starred at him almost falling over. "Yeah well screw you buddy!" I gave him the finger. Slowly I wondered down the halls barley on my feet I found vault security HQ. I opened the door, and fell to the ground everyone in there laughed as they saw a random drunk appear. "Scr..ew you all I walked into security chiefs Office.

I...I have a complaint Ares..yo..ur men are jerks I tell you! I slouched back in a chair, you need to get this vault under control before some...one gets hurt!" I laughed and slammed my bottle on his desk.

Ares had just finished up a report involving an assault on an officer when Smits Vectov stumbled in his office. The man seemed quite drunk, and when he spoke his words confirmed Ares suspicion.

I...I have a complaint Ares..yo..ur men are jerks I tell you! You need to get this vault under control before some...one gets hurt! Happy Christmas and have a wonderful Birthday!"

Ares felt bad for the man. It was apparent his day had not been enjoyable. After the man puked in a garbage can, Ares picked up a bottled water. He walked over to the man and handed it to him, hoping the man would drink.

"You're drunk. So please, take this water and go get some rest. I really don't want to have to put you into a holding cell, Smits."

“Yes son take Geiger counter to bliss and measure radiation levels, got it, should be back tomorrow with the results” Matthew father said as he walked out the cave….

Shutting the Vault door, matt opened the Overseers tunnel and slowly walked back to his office….

Matt had just asked his ghoul dad to check the radiation Levels outside the cave and in the nearby town of Bliss, several Vault citizens (including matt) had begun to wonder what had happened outside but Matt had been too afraid of radiation to check it out…

Entering his office, Smits was passed out on the couch and had throw up on the floor

I really should stop him from drinking..but it keeps him busy and not asking nosey qeutsion about my meetings with dad...

Closing the secret tunnel hatch, Matt walked over the intercom and clicked “chief of security intercom” button

“ hello Ares, could you send someone up here to take Smits back to his room, his has passed out on my couch , oh and could you send someone from the cleaning crew up as well, he made a bit of a mess…”

Just as Ares was about to go on lunch break, his intercom rang.

"Sure." replied Ares. "That man has made a mess of himself today...quite dissapointing." Ares hung up on Matt and rang in to the maintenance room.

"I need someone to clean up a mess in the overseers office please, and escort a drunk to his room." Ares knew the men down at maintenance would be reluctant to get the job done, but somebody had to do it.

Ares sat up from his chair and realized he wasn't hungry. He had a large breakfast in the morning, and had snacked on chips in the several times in the day. Instead he decided to head over to the library and do some research. There was something he wanted to know about the vault....

I was right steam was coming out of the crevasses of the metal. "It has been opened!" I made my way for Ares room the door opened.

He picked himself up off the couch and walked to the door in a haze.
Then the door opened in front of him, revealing an exhausted Smits.

"Nariko do you know the Vault door has been opened?" He said quickly, "I just checked it someone is endangering the vault with radiation!" He gasped and leaned against the door frame.

Nariko stared at him for a moment. He blinked and shook his head, saying, "Oh hey, Smits. Do you smell that? I think theres something wrong with the reactor that goes to this room. The air is... blue. What about the door?"

after smits had been dragged out, matt turned on the terminal and had been reading the strange message that had appeared on the Overseers terminal last week, Matt wondered if the Message was real or someone idea of prank. everyone safe & happy in the Vault but what about the outside was it safe, should we go out there?

luckily matt's Dad, John had become a ghoul and had offered to help the vault and had goone to small town of bliss to check the radiattion Levels, matt hoped he would be okay.....


Matt turned on the intercom and called the reactor room “ how’s the repairs on the reactor going, some people are starting to complain. ”

“Working on it, sir should be fixed soon” a man replied

“Good the sooner the better” matt said and then turned the intercom off…

Think I’ll go for a walk….

Whilst walking around the Vault, Matt walked into the library to see Ares working on a terminal.

Vault 80 is designed to protect and house many of America's animals in the event of a catastrophic event. It was given an unofficial name of Noah's Ark, for its similiarity to the bible story so well known today. Vault 80 was-

Ares quickly turned of the terminal. He had known Matt for a while, but the man tended to be a tad shady. Ares could not trust him for now.

"Just looking over some mail, the terminal in my room seems to be malfunctioning." Picking himself up from the desk, Ares walked over and patted Matt on the shoulder.

"How's it going? Haven't talked to you alone in a while."

Nariko looked dazed.

I walked into the reactor room met by a panicked man. "Smits I'm sorry I cant fix it I tried!" he cried.

"Get out of my way! I ran past head started spinning I looked at the reactor it was green glow and flashing. I ran to a terminal

Initiate emergency radiation shut down

The bang went off, the room went black. I flicked my pip boy light on and ran to a control panel.

Direct power reactor B starts cleanses. I made my way to a pipe.

A gauge was showing a small but steady stream of gasses going into the vault living courtiers. I twisted some knobs a steam started through the air ducks scrubbing the gasses from the vault.

I ran over to the reactors and clicked the switch. Bang A blue glow filled the room and a steady hum. I need to teach this man some more for now he my only replacement.

"Mhmm... Just feeling a little drowsy. Its probably just something in the air. Good night, Garry." Nariko called after Smits.
He turned around, wavering a little.

"Odd dabs of colour in my vision... Must be something in the air." Nariko thought, looking at the vents around the room.

"Akira is spending the night in Elenor's room. But where do I sleep if the air is messing with me a little?"
He went to his terminal and checked his email.

"Smits is really the only person I'm close enough to to crash in his room without him minding. But he's probably busy with his killing everyone in the vault thing." He went farther down his email.

"Even Ares became so reproachful in the past year..."
His hand stopped for a moment when he saw the sender for the email he had just received.

Because of his job he was used to receiving emails from new people. But this one made him halt for some reason.

"Why does that name sound slightly familiar?"
For a moment, he felt something old that he had buried inside him. But he wasn't sure what.

"Mr. Hoshi. As I understand it, we have known each other for a long time. Only, you haven't known you know me..." Nariko skimmed.

Through his addled thoughts, his eyes widened.
"This is..." He muttered to himself.

"...In the next several days, some very important things are going to happen..."

"This... is..."

"...the sake of the ones you care about..."

"Incredibly boring, has nothing to do with my job, and sounds like a chain letter." He said out loud. "Delete."
He then proceeded to the medical wing and fell asleep next to the door.

“Yeah everything going okay, it’s hard running a vault and keeping everyone happy, especially hen you look this Matt” said briefly taking off his sunglasses to show Ares his scared eye…

“Emergency radiation shut down” Came over vaults speakers followed by the lights going off…

“What the hell? I gotta check this out, speak to ya later Ares” matt said as he turned on his pip-boy light and walked out of room suddenly the lights turned on…

“Sorry everyone problem fixed” cam over the speakers again, this time it was smits assistant...

It’s too late now but I’ll ask smits in morning what happen…

Matt walked back into his room, Matt parrot, little beak squawked as matt walked in…

"Good night little break " Matt mumbled as climbied into bed….

My speaker boomed in my room. Damn this I got to take that thing out. It was the Overseer demanding me to go to his office. I grabbed some coffee and headed off.


Reaching to open the door something brushed by my legs. I jumped pouring my hot coffee on me. Stupid cat get out of here! I kicked it away, it let out a snarl I headed into the Overseers office.

"What do you want!" I yelled I tried squeezing the coffee out of my suite.

I walked down the hallway's, what the hell does he need me investigating this junk. Power hungry that’s what he is.

I bumped into a man, It was the Vault Head Engineer. "Hey there’s something I need you too do!" He looked at me in a strange way. "That vault reactor room has a huge amount of giant bugs! I have no Idea what to do, run to the security hq and tell the security chief too send all his men there now! Hurry go. I ran on hoping that the Vault Engineer could do the job.

Elias looked at the man with a strange look. "Alright, i'll get on it" he said to the man and started walking off in another direction. He walked through the Vault, down some corridors and through some rooms. Eventually Elias made his way into the Reactor room and he saw exactly what the man was talking about. There was a group of unnaturally large bugs moving around in the room. Normally Elias didn't handle situations like this, normally Security would handle it but he figured that it would be pretty easy plus he needed to figure out where they got in at. Elias didn't often carry his weapon on the job but this was an exception because he wasn't working. Strapped to his belt was an old six shot revolver that belonged to the family.
