Oh noes you just woke up in Nirn!

Post » Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:25 am

So you go to sleep, you know from a rather bland life.
When you wake up you find your RP character sitting next to you, or perhaps you wake up alone in the forest. Your character tells you that they found you injured. Then you find out that this is Nirn exactly how you imagined it.
Who is the character who is sitting right next to you?
What is your class?
What will you do after the initial shock is gone?
Who will you hate/like?
Will you join a guild?

Hmmm... For me the character sitting next to me will be Tobias
My class perhaps a mage
Well first I will punch that racist countess, then go exploring with Tobias.

I would like to wake up next to my Ohmes-raht, Desert shaper character, but...
I just know it'll be Osmundas Hlaalu and things will be strangely out of place, with an awkward sense of violation, and the smell of daedra and lettuce hanging strongly in the air.

Class Agent I suppose but begger would suit better.

First off I would find my trousers, then punch Osmundas.
Then I'll find out about the nearest fence, smash and grab some minor store, cosh someone or roll a drunk and hope to hell I can find a healer with a cure diesease spell.

It will be Sierra sitting next to me. :hubbahubba:

Just kidding, my main; Heartless would be the one to have found me. (Though it could be pretty much anyone of my several RP characters, I would be hoping for either Sierra or Gaenlorn though, as they're the nicest. The others are pretty crazy. Mathias is okay, but he's kinda 'lone wolf'.)

My class would be something like Tradesman, or Bard, or something peaceful. In this day and age, I can handle myself, but that's another universe, I'd rather play it safe. (Plus, I fashion myself to be an Imperial)

After the initial shock is gone, I would ask, nicely, and gently, for Heartless to escort me to the nearest town, or Inn. From there I would probably get myself a job, maybe doing menial odd jobs, or coming along with hunters, to help them or something simple, until I can afford to get a house, clothes, etc. Then I'll get a proper job as a shop assistant, or apprentice of a hunter or something. I would like to play it safe, but if it comes down to it, I wouldn't mind getting out there and hunting deer. (Hopefully trolls and ogres won't gobble me up :P)

I don't know who I would hate/like, I guess Im going to have to see how each person treats me.

I'll lay down the problem I have with each guild;

Fighters Guild: Im good with H2H as I've been doing martial arts since childhood, and am pretty good, but there are heavily armored fighters out there. I can hold a sword, and swing it, not much else. Perhaps with training and all, but I don't want to risk it. Not when I can live a peaceful life.

Mages Guild: I can't cast magic (to my knowledge) and am terrible at chemistry, so alchemy is out. They won't even accept me in. :P (Actually they would, they let anyone in there. But I wouldn't get very far, just traveling from one city to the next is a nightmare, and there's no fast travel in real life, those recommendations would be hell to get).

Thieves Guild: I don't find it morally right to steal, even if Im desperate, I'd rather do labour for minimum wage, than steal.

Dark Brotherhood: Okay, I know the screenname points in that direction, but I would never murder in real life. Plus, the people (and their sanctuary) creeps me out.

Arena: Simply not worth the risk. I can't fight with swords or blunt weapons as well as trained fighters.

I wake up next to Alexia. She's a pretty good healer, so I'm going to be alright, but I wouldn't do well adventuring - and she likes exploring too much to let me get in the way, so I'd probably be dropped off at the nearest city, where I'd join the mage's guild - it seems like the safest option. I get a bed, and training, and after a few months of that I should be able to hold my own. After that, well, life with magic would be pretty sweet. Never mind all of those pesky things you have to do in real life :D

I would wake up in the middle of a forest and the spirit of Emperor Uriel Septim VII would be standing next to me. He would tell me about Nirn, everything else that is going on in the world and he would send me on a mission to save Cyrodill.
My Character will be a Paladin type character with major skills of Blade, Block, Armorer, Light Armor, Illusion, Restoration, Heavy Armor.
Would I join a guild possibly but my mission would come 1st.

I would wake up next to my newest character, Teskinah, while she was out collecting food for her meals.
She would tell me that luckily I had no injuries, or that I would of been doomed. I would then ask if I could venture with her, atleast until I got my bearings in Nirn.
I would become a Magic user myself, since before now I would never of had the chance.
I might seek membership of the Mages guild, or be on my own. I would try not to fight until I had reasonable skills in casting spells.

I would first thank Sal, my Argonian Sniper.
I would be a stealth/magic user,similar to a nightblade
I'd tag along with Sal for a while, backing him up for a bit before going solo.
I'd join the mages and thieves guilds, I'm not sure about the DB, it would depend on whether or not I happened to murder someone. But I wouldn't do it just to join.

This would be a rather normal day. My character and I cross planes together quite freely.

On earth, Buffy sits very small and invisibly on my shoulder. I call the shots. She is usually either bored or terrified here unless we are working on her journal.

Nirn however, is her terf. When we are there, I sit very small and invisibly on her shoulder. She calls the shots. Sometimes I offer advice. Sometimes she listens.

What do we do on Nirn? Well, she is a mystic archer and member of the guild of mages. She is quite curious, and has quite the appetite for adventure and exploration.

We have an understanding.

I'd wake up to my Battlemage - Rythe. I'd either stay with him at Rosethorn Hall, or rent Arborwatch off him! I don't think I would go adventuring much, as I'm pretty useless with a Bow and Arrow, never had a proper sword, and never done martial arts. I would probably just lead a simple, commoner life, and go exploring once or twice, once I develop my magical skills! Hahaha

I'd wake up next to a very poor Redguard who lives on the waterfront.

I'd go into Alchemy seeing as I have no magical prowess or much experience with weapons.

I'd live a happy life, collecting plants in the wild, selling my wares, making potions. Maybe buy a place in Chorrol after a while of living with Darius.

Nothing fancy.

I'd wake up with Valiri kneeling over me making a fuss trying to wake me up. She's a worrier.

I'd probably be a breton mage. I have no extraordinary physical or acrobatic talents so my mind would be my weapon or tool as it's needed.

I would have some difficulty getting over the shock as Valiri would most likely be trying to force me to drink some kind of restorative potion. She would insist on helping me so I would accept. I would stay with her in Cheydinhal. I would learn alchemy from her and I would make a very profitable living eventualy. If all goes well I'd end up staying with Valiri on a more permanent basis.

I'd join the mage's guild because I'm a mage right? Since Valiri's already a member of the guild and knows what to expect, she'd help me get my recommendations.

I can't say as I'd really hate anybody. I don't really hate anybody IRL so I can't imagine I'd hate to many people in Cyrodiil either. I know I'd like Valiri though. :hehe:

I wake up. The sun is beating down hot on my face. I hear the sound of water nearby.

I sit up, feeling around for my glasses, and then realize that my eyesight is suddenly perfect, and the place is somehow familiar. Yes, that's the Imperial City, just across the lake.

I feel my face with my hands. My beard is gone. The clothes I'm wearing look somehow out of place, like they don't belong here any more than I do. Green shirt, brown pants...

My ears have grown! I seem to be an elf! What kind?

I walk to the water's edge, and look down at the reflection, as the water slowly stills...

No! Oh, not that!

Not Fargoth!

Well, it would depend on where I popped up.

If I ended up in Morrowind, I would be met with either B or Talas... hopefully B as he is stronger, though Talas is probably a bit nicer. I would probably join the Thieves Guild and try to learn magic. Fighting? Heck no!

In Cyrodil, I would wake beside Clawhammer, who would probably try to kill me initially... but then we'd become buds (hopefully) and he would help me out with whatever I wanted to do, since he now has not much better to do...

I've woken up next to Petrose the Paladin: Hero of Kvatch and savior of Nirn; Leader of the Knights of the Nine, the Fighter's Guild, and the Mages Guild. I am his humble servant by choice: a mere disciple at the feet of a historic figure in Tamriel. Honored to stand in the shadow of greatness.

I would probably go crazy because I could no longer tell, with a certain degree of certainty, what is and what isn't real. If a game world would become my realitiy even tough I have always seen it as a fake world I would probably not accept it.
So, obviously, I would try to find my way out of it and along the way find npc's who start to believe this world is fake. Eventually I manage to find a way out and see that a super computer/machine race has actually conquered the world and placed humans in this simulation called 'Nirn'.

I would start an underground city called Vivec and start my war against these machines. Eventually I find a way to return to Nirn and help others escape. Along the way certain programs called 'Guards' will try to kill me, but I will prevail.

Oh yes:

my class would be an assassin because I like sneaking :P
The character sitting next to me is an Imperial Legion Forester
I will not join a guild because my quest to escape this fake world consumes all my time

Something very similar happened to me. I dreamed I was in cyrodil, I didn't join any guilds. I just explored and used my enchanted keyboard to kill random npcs.

Well, that all depends on which character I found myself trapped with. :P If it's Relanna...uh, I'd probably go with my first instinct, that being to run for my life. (Relanna is my power-hungry mage who backstabbed and intrigued all the way up to the High Chancellor's seat. Because being Countess of Kvatch and Archmage just wasn't enough for this woman.) I don't why she would have saved me in the first place, but if she knew I was her creator she'd either try to kill me in a fit of pique, or try to use me to somehow warp Nirn to suit her whims. Either way it would end poorly for me. So as much as I'd love to stay and chat with her, I'd probably just wind up running for the hills. Or Akavir. Depends on how determined she is to chase me. (Relanna's Oblivion/Morrowind existence is a transplanted version of her from my own original fiction. Her character's been with me for years, in one form or another, and I love her dearly, which is why I'd be tempted to stay and talk. It's just that she also scares the living daylights out of me.)

If it's Amarel, my ranger/archer, things would go a lot more peacefully. I might join her traveling band for a little while (she hardly ever goes anywhere without her friends, http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977 and http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17743), at least until I found a city to settle in. Amarel's a wanderer, and prefers to go from city to city depending on where people need her to be, or where her duties with the Fighters' Guild take her. I don't know if I could keep up with that life. Besides which, at the moment there's a bit of an Oblivion Crisis going on, and most of her energy's going into solving that. I'd definitely keep in touch with her, though.

As for class, guilds, etc...well, my guess is I couldn't swing a sword without cutting off my own kneecaps. ;) So my class would be something along the lines of scholar or bard, and I certainly wouldn't be joining the Fighters' Guild or Dark Brotherhood. Assuming I hit my head on my way to Nirn and developed the ability to use magic, I might join the Mages' Guild. Even without magic, I might try to join them anyway. They need someone to keep their library in order, right? ;) That might mean I'd settle down in the Imperial City, although I'd probably prefer living in Skingrad.

Ideally, out of the many characters I've had, I'd like to wake up in the Great Forest next to Lirielle Tailas, my Breton Healer. This is mainly because I based her personality on my best friend, so yeah.
I probably wouldn't be a Mage, obviously being unable to do magic, so I'd probably be a Woodsman, or something like that. I would ask Lirielle to teach me magic though.

First things first, I'd ask Lirielle where I was, and when/how she found me. Then I'd ask her if I could stay with her for a few nights while I get myself on my feet and used to Nirn life. Afterwards I'd ask her if she'd come travelling with me, and travel the provinces. We'd go to Vvardenfell, mainland Morrowind, Skyrim and Summerset Isle before I decided where I'd like to spend the rest of my life. Then I'd probably ask her if she'd like to join me.

I'd be the same as I am now, I wouldn't hate or like anyone more than anyone else from the off. Everyone would start out with equal respect from me, and what they do with it is up to them. Although I would have to lay the smackdown on Necromancers.

If I could, I'd join the Mages Guild (after Lirielle taught me the basics). I'd like to join House Telvanni too, but neither Lirielle nor myself would be Dunmer, and they're too damn xenophobic.

Great topic! :)

Who is the character who is sitting right next to you?
I think I would like to be found by my warlock, Mereldor. He has a hand both with healing and blowing things up.
Or possibly my warrior, Barahir. Hey, someone has to run into danger and I prefer to keep a distance.

What is your class?
My class would certainly be a mage, though I would carry a blade as well.

What will you do after the initial shock is gone?
I'd try to find an inn and review my options. Probably go adventuring, then settle down in Chorrol or Anvil when I had enough money. I hear Benirus Manor is on the market for a modest sum.

Who will you hate/like?
I would remain faithful to the empire, but be open to any race. I would stay away from the Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood. And I don't like countess Leyawiin.

Will you join a guild?
I would probably join the mages' guild and try to get into the arcane university after some time on the road.

Linara would probably be my first choice to wake up next too, preferably in Bruma. I think I would either travel with her, or try and get enough septims to open my own shop. I've always thought a shopkeeper job would fit me. My weapon of choice would be that nifty little Witsplinter you get in the Anvil quest. I don't think I would join any guilds, although if I had the skill to do so, I would join the Mages Guild.

I have woken up in Nirn, near lake Arrius:

Who is the character who is sitting right next to you?

Hmm, well I suppose it could be either Kain or Kiva. I think I would prefer Kiva being next to me, as she's a gentle girl, a healer. As much as I think Kain is the pinnacle of awesome, I probably wouldn't want to adventure with him. He's a neutral kind of person. Better the devil you trust to be a devil huh?
What is your class?

Mage probably. If Kiva could teach me magic and I could find someone to train me so I could use a sword, that would be awesome.

What will you do after the initial shock is gone?

Ask if Kiva would give me a hand in my time of need. I mean, I created her so I hope she's greatful for it.

Who will you hate/like?

I would hope to become friends with Kiva if possible, and I would probably hate Audens Avidius, Ulrich Leland and The Dark Brotherhood

Will you join a guild?

The mages guild, hopefully. Getting to the Arcane University would be pretty cool too.

Return to IV - Oblivion
