Just read that it's going to take up 3 discs on Xbox 360. That's gotta be annoying: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-05-05-l-a-noire-takes-up-3-xbox-360-discs

Seriously? Is the 360 hardware really that bad, or is rockstar really that lazy?

I cant wait, first big game of the year for me. DA2 was a huge bust and Portal 2 and Killzone 3 are not games I got super hyped about. :celebration:

same awful controls that RDR and previous GTA games have

What? Red Dead Redemption has extremely nice, tight controls. I didn't have an issue with them in the least.

I'm totally getting LA Noire. It looks fantastic.

I had to get used to the horses in RDR but that didn't take long.

This. Definitely this. My only complaint is that it hasn't yet been announced for the PC. :P

Why do you think that is? Couldn't they afford to create high res textures, etc.?

Is it standard policy for most of Rockstar's AAA releases to do no PC version?

<--hating on Rockstar and the devs of Demon's Souls because I don't have a #@$%^&%# console

I'm hoping it won't have the same awful controls that RDR and previous GTA games have.

what??

rdr was one of the most easy and smoothest control combination of awesomeness I have used actually. I liked them better then Oblivion's, and that is saying a lot (for me particularly).

I thought the controls svcked, especially the horse. Rockstar have never been very good at making smooth, fluid controls.

This is what Rockstar said about the game being on 3 discs on 360:

L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the sheer amount of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400 actors in-game," he explained.

"To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and three Xbox discs."

As a reference point, Rockstar's last effort, Red Dead Redemption, shipped on a single Xbox 360 disc.

dude... I actually want the game now. I was thinking I could be fine without it, but wow! I'm still going to save up for Skyrim first, but I'll probably get the game in the future.

Probably not, most of those discs are probably for the motion scan tech and stuff. I would guess L.A. Noire is smaller than RDR, but has more advanced technology.

Going to trade in my copies of DA2 and Fable 3 to Gamestop so I can get $50 off L.A. Noir. There's a list of 50 or so titles they will take for this deal.

I can't wait for this to come out! For those who pre-ordered it, what pack are you getting? I pre-ordered from Gamestop because it seemed to have the most content.

I'm still waiting for footage from the release version. If that one is as uncanny as the footage seen already... I think I will pass. Very uncomfortable to watch. Or they give us a switch for floating head characters. The faces on their own are fine.
