Why does R* keep
Spoiler
changing the protaganist before the end of the game? I didn't want to play as Jack Kelso. I liked Phelps, found him to be an interesting character and yet I'm running around as his plaid slathered Marine Corp buddy for the tail end of the game?

Spoiler
Yea I didn't really like Kelso either, but when else did R* change characters at the end of a game unnecessarily. Also keep in mind this was not totally R*'s game.

Their last game did pretty much the same thing. RDRs conclusion left something to be desired in my opinion.
Spoiler
The first time I played it, I actually thought the game had ended when Marston was killed. I waited for credits that never happened and then actually turned off the machine. Wasn't until the next day when a buddy told me there was more to play that I returned to the game. But in that case I still was unsatisfied with playing as Jack. I had come to appreciate John as an interesting protaganist and felt that his wimpy kid represented and weaker character throughout the story. i know what they were going for and appreciated the complex (for a video game) storytelling, but hoped not to see such a tool used again so soon.
All that being said, I still haven't finished LAN, so I don't know if I'll get to return to controlling Phelps (I hope so).

As for whether or not this is a R* game, you just have to look at the cover of the game and the credits... Rockstar Presents... A big R* logo on the corner (no team Bondi recognition on the front) and writing credits that carry the Houser pedigree.

Yeah and the integration of R* social adds to the illusion. To be honest though I think the quality of work is good enough so far.I shall have to decide when im finished with it.

Was playing the game today. I pay alot of attention, but when it comes to interrigation I always feel like I'm playing the lottery, even with the evidence required for a lie.

I'd like more options and multiple ways to convict someone, instead of just this narrow one-way street.

I want another game in like the 60's though. They did the wild west, now the 40's, I'd like to see them get more and more modern. The whole car aspect is what I really like though. Driving in the cars from the time period was enough for me to buy this game alone.

What would be better is modern day CIA/NSA etc. Start with basic lacky missions up to Black ops all around the world.

Agreed. I wish that there were more options in interrogations as well.

Probably going to pick this up as soon as I pick my xbox up from uni. I haven't really seen any reviews or anything, have there been any major disappointments?

Well its not as good as most people expected, linear and repetitive gameplay hurts it plus a non- existent story at times.Still a good game and along with Portal 2 its among the few games that have not been a complete disappointment.

IM SORRY "cries" :cryvaultboy: To be honest we all knew what was going to happen.

No, we did not all know what the ending of a game was, that we've never played. Until stupid [censored] dike heads like you come along and spoil the experience because
they're so inconsiderate and lazy to put it in spoiler tags like everyone else is doing on this thread, except you of course.

Next time shut the hell up or warn us when your going to
spoil the game :flame:

I hope the mods delete that spoiler post (if they havn't already)

I am personally loving this game and that is a first for me with Rockstar. I found GTA 4 too much of a pain when I would have to reload at times 10 minutes or more back if I failed. LA Noire has a much better auto save feature and I am not usually a fan of auto save only games. The mechanics for driving/shooting/brawling are much tighter then previous games like RDR or GTA 4. The only real beef I have is the rank 20. There are so many collectables and missions there seems to be much more XP then there is ranks. I don't see why the rank is 20 anyway. The higher you go doesn't seem to affect gameplay in any way shape or form that I have noticed. I haven't had any bugs but have read on here people having some problems. I am using a XBOX 360 and have only seen minor graphics glitches. Some funny things like people falling face down and dying for no reason....LOL or hearing gunshots and not seeing any problem in the immediate area. Now for a Rockstar game I will give this a 9.0 seeing as the ranks should be higher to match all the XP you can get. Also after being so disappointed in that garbage game Dragon Age 2 or that lame bugged out TDU2, this game seemed to be a dream.

CHEERS ROCKSTAR, I would like to see a more modern era type of game like this. where you are something like CIA/NSA/ONI etc and start as a lacky and work your way up to black ops across the world.

It seems you can do all forty street crimes in one case.I did seven in my current case and the calls keep coming in.Probably best to spread them out I reckon.

Unless you waited until later in the game to do some of them or its bugged. It isn't possible to all the street crimes at once, when certain ones only unlocked after the big cases.

So now those who bought the game have had sufficient time to play it I've got a couple of questions.

1) Is it worth doing a second playthrough, maybe even a third or more?
2) Do you now wish you'd waited for the price to come down before you bought it?

1. you might want to replay some cases to get a better rating on how you did, but no reason to replay immediately after.
2. It was a good purchase.

1. No, when I beat it, I was ready to put it down for a while.

2. It was a good buy, but $40 would have been a better price.

1.I play games multiple times, even ones that are labeled linear because the purpose of a game is to have fun and it still provides fun for me.
2.I only payed $15 as I traded in two games for it but would of been fine paying $60 for it.I would suggest to wait for a small price drop however in case your not sure.

Well to be honest the story wasn't really the strong suit of that game.

Nice one, it got spoiled. Still getting it after exams but it's excitement will be diminished for me. Come onto the forums during a study break and THIS happens. At least the build up to it wasn't ruined so it wasn't an ABSOLUTE disaster. The price will go down in a month anyway...

The Black Dahlia murder. You guys should go read that out! It fits in with the game so much. She was a waitress who wanted to become a movie star, & when she was found; the police failed to determine the murderer because the media had been spooking around the body, trampling on clues.

This. I really, really wish I hadn't read that. It's killed part of the game for me.

On a brighter note, just hit Vice and it's getting pretty good now. I'm finding the golden film reels ridiculously hard to find; I've only found one so far.... Haven't even bothered looking for the police badges. :P

Yes, we all know about this. Rockstar compared homicide to the Dahlia murder multiple times, and
Spoiler
it comes in to play during the game itself.

Did you see that? It was a spoiler tag.
