L.A. Noire

This. I really, really wish I hadn't read that. It's killed part of the game for me.

On a brighter note, just hit Vice and it's getting pretty good now. I'm finding the golden film reels ridiculously hard to find; I've only found one so far.... Haven't even bothered looking for the police badges. :P

Did you see that? It was a spoiler tag.

What's that?

Yeah, I know, but I don't like guides for things like this. They make me feel stupid. :P

EDIT: Hmm... just found out about Rockstar's map. That's not cheating... it's official, right? :P

I finished LA noire earlier today. Once again, like RDR's real ending, it was kind of underwhelming. I enjoyed the game for the most part, but I couldn't help but think sometimes that I was playing an interactive story. You really didn't have any control over phelps. When he decides to
Spoiler
call out a conspiracy
he does it, but at the same time, when he decides to
Spoiler
cheat on his wife
, you just have to roll with it.

The whole small world storyline didn't really sit well with me either.

Honestly, I had half the mind of halting all the work I had coming in so I could finish this game. Taking on Phelp's job was like taking on a real job...and thats not a good thing. There was too much dealing with numbers, and memorizing things, and just remembering all these names. The game doesn't pace itself at all..it never presents you with a time to digest all the people and plots.

The best thing about LA noire is the facial animation, by far. Its going to be hard to buy future games and see faces that lack emotion and character..thats for sure.

This is kind of how I feel. I can't follow many of the cases just because of how quickly they go, and when they refer back to old cases I never catch what they're talking about. I like the game, but this drives the OCD in me crazy.

I hear you man, this game is nowhere near OCD friendly, it drives me nuts frequently.

The Black Dahlia murder. You guys should go read that out! It fits in with the game so much. She was a waitress who wanted to become a movie star, & when she was found; the police failed to determine the murderer because the media had been spooking around the body, trampling
on clues.

Hey, thanks for not spoiling that case for me.

The Black Dahlia murder took place before L.A. Noire starts.

The whole point of making such a pompous and egotistical signature was so people would pronounce my name right. :P

Its my fault for not spacing it out initially and not being able to understand what sounds vowels make, though.

I picked up Brink today...and I have to say..after playing LA Noire I feel like all games of the future have to use this technology in order to be successful.

I know what you mean, I started a new playthrough of the Saboteur today and my first thought was that the game looks like crap.

Eh, I beat L.A. Noire then bought Halo ODST and Alan Wake and felt fine with how they where so I can't see me expecting L.A. Noire's tech in future games.Sure it would be great but I'm happy without it to, after it seemed to be a major distraction for the devs.

Picked up the game today, and I've been playing for about two hours. So far, I'm really enjoying it. Not much more to share at this point.

I loved the game all the way through the Arson desk... Halfway through Arson... I'd have to say not so much. :(

I realized today that I missed a case, the free DLC one "the naked City."

It had me realize something: It has to be one of the only cases that isn't
Spoiler
tied in with the two main storylines
...and I have to say..I kind of liked that.

Spoiler
Initially each case is made to look as if it stands on its own, but after you have completed the game and want to redo a case, you kind of feel like you're jumping in from a smaller piece of a larger plot.

Cool, shame there isn't a fold up one in the case like most R* games.

How did they handle the DLC cases? I haven't been able to play the Ps3 exclusive case or my preorder bonus because of the PS Store being down. How do you play them once you've passed their place in the story?
