L.A. Noire

I think L.A Noire beats Heavy Rain too,

I would wholeheartedly disagree with that, Heavy Rain is a contender for my top 10 games of all time while L.A. Noire is slightly above average.

I finished HR once and it was indeed an interesting game.I just dont like the quick time events as the action scenes.I failed one near the end of the game and a girl burned alive.Such a good body...and look at it now. :(

Once I finish LAN I will make my final decision, but imo the latter is better.

I have it ordered for 10€, it should be with me in two days.I need a break from CGI blockbusters...last film I watched was Skyline. :(

Great, glad to see people taking an interest in good films.

Getting this after exams in June. Saw the first 2 traffic cases to see how the game plays out, and it looks really interesting. Anyone who has this game know when exactly does the story comes fully into play (without ruining it)?

So I played for about two hours yesterday, did a case and then looked for cars. I'm up to 47 or so out of 95. Holy crap I can tell what cars I've been in to. There are soo many cars.

also, i made this mistake, READ EVERY NEWS PAPER, a lot of back story that really helps explain some parts of the plot is gained through them.

Okay, cool, I'll make sure I'll do that. I definitely will enjoy taking in the late 40s atmosphere of this game, especially the clothes and cars.

Its pretty difficult to tell if someone is lying or not. Most of the times i get 1/3 of the questions correct.

So, I just beat the game. Thought it was fantastic.
Spoiler
Once you've beaten the game, how do you play after the end? Do you just select a case from the 'cases' menu and play from there? Or is there another way?

I can usually tell when someone's lying, but I have a lot of trouble deciding when to "doubt" and when to "lie." I find that people almost never react the way you'd expect them to when doubting, and everyone ignores evidence that would condemn a suspect's lie.

I actually almost got all questions correct in the Silk Stocking Murder. The hardest part is choosing between truth and doubt

I got exposed to a few minor spoilers, like who was the culprit in a case, will the experience be the same even with those? Hopefully I can forget them in the next 2 months.

Possible Spoilers

Spoiler
I just finished the last Homicide case and boy was I getting mad at the end. You know the last part? when you interview both suspects? I just couldn't get anything out of them, they were looking suspicious and I would doubt and it would be incorrect. :swear: I collect all the evidence so I had a few bits to get them with if they lied. I wish I could look at all the questions I'm going to ask before I ask the first one. The ammount of times I've tried to get him with some evidence only for it to fail and then be the evidence I needed for the second question.

Does the whole Homicide thing come together? I mean I put like 4 guys away and then it turned out to be some hokerr living in a church.

I just returned L.A. Noire this morning. It wasn't a bad game exactly, but it was lacking many of the sandbox/minigame elements I've come to expect from an open world title. It was very linear and I couldn't see much replay value in it. For $109AUD (i.e. $116USD), the investment-return ratio was totally out of proportion. I will probably pick it up again next year when the price has come down.

So I just beat the game, in a total of 16 hours, completing roughly 15 side cases. I must say, about halfway through the game it started to get pretty repetitive. But I couldn't quit playing it because of the story.

It was fun, but now that I have beaten it, I would recommend just renting it.

So... you bought it for $116...sold it for a fraction of the value....expecting to buy it again?

Did I say that I sold the game? No, I said that I returned the game. You know, for a full refund. :)

I just had a really annoying bug where I could not punch or block in a fight scene. Seriously I just stood there blankley, I ended up skipping the action scene which I hated doing.
