It seems you can do all forty street crimes in one case.I did seven in my current case and the calls keep coming in.Probably best to spread them out I reckon.

Tell me what happens. Unless if its story related. Tell me what happens in the most simple way you can without spoiling the game.

Really? Is the story falling apart, or the gameplay?

Godzilla?

Edit - Damn. The street crimes are bugged possibly.I just did four in a row and they were repeats.Maybe you have to progress the main story before more become available.

Story mostly, it just becomes to outrageous and playing as
Spoiler
Jack Kelso
is just painful.

Well if you read the small spoiler I posted that is part of it, plus the big final case gets a little outlandish.Generally its high ranking officials are corrupt and your trying to expose them.Thats not bad and was interesting until the start looping all those back stoires you didn't fully understand together at the end. Its a little over complicated as well.

Okay, it sort of settles down after that.I think most of what angered me was that for the first 20 hours I played the game it was pretty darn realistic and believable, then almost out of nowhere becomes much more video game like, with tons of over the top action.I'll update you all again once I've finished.

Just beat it after about 25 hours of play time. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype around it like so many other games released so far this year. It still excelled in some areas such as gameplay and graphics. The story was at sometimes great and other times very poor like the end.It was linear and repetitive at times too but still the being a detective was something new and interesting in the world of gaming. Its proably the best title so far this year which isn't really saying much but it gets a 7.5/10 in my book.

I write up a full review in a day or two.

@Miller and Spectre Do you see this becoming a series, or is this a one time affair?

One time although you never know with some game companies, it had great potential but the devs never really gave it a great story like I was expecting.

I want another game in like the 60's though. They did the wild west, now the 40's, I'd like to see them get more and more modern. The whole car aspect is what I really like though. Driving in the cars from the time period was enough for me to buy this game alone.

yeah this game doesnt really seem like the kind of game that needs a sequel.

also, it felt like game should have lasted a couple more missions longer then it did. The Vice Department seriously needed more cases, it was my favorite department by far.

i also wish we got to see Phelps develop more then we did, but still this game was very much worth my money, and i havent even done half the side missions yet,

How would you compare the story/cutscene/gameplay ratio compared to MGS4?

Honestly I never really played MGS4 past the first 10 hours of cutscenes,I found it unbearable.I never really felt like there where to many cutscenes, just the right amount I suppose.

there is more gameplay then cut-scenes, while there are alot of cut-scenes, they never really drag on the amount MGS4s did.

This game has contributed some innovation to the industry. The True Crime 3 devs had their game canceled. They need to re think what a detective game can be.I think L.A Noire beats Heavy Rain too, but I need to finish it before I make up my mind.

Whats with the gold movie reels guys?I found one but it didnt play a video or anything.

They are basically just collectibles for trophy/achievement hunters and completionists. You find all 50 and you get the "Hollywoodland" trophy which counts for getting 100% in game and getting the "City Of Angels" trophy. They are all 40's-50's film noirs (I've seen about 3/4 of them. Heard of the rest.)

If you are interested in finding them all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9ZR3yyR_2c

Double Indemnity hands down. It's the quintessential noir. There are many greats, but Double Indemnity is where you should start.

I have it ordered for 10€, it should be with me in two days.I need a break from CGI blockbusters...last film I watched was Skyline. :(

Someone said earlier that the Vice desk is lacking content.I noticed the free dlc case is for vice, so that fleshes it out a little.
