I have only ever saved this annoying Dunmer on pc by flying over him using tcl.. lol landing and carrying on after he is well away from contact range.

Completely avoiding him till everything was dead.. then jogging back to retrieve him and close the gate..

How have you saved him?

I would love to know non cheating ways to save him.
