Lover's Comfort doesn't require sleeping in the same bed with your spouse, actually. You can get it as long as they're in the building with you when you sleep... Which you couldn't get with the Alchemist's Shack anyway, since your spouse will only move into bought houses, so...

What about Honeyside in Riften? Most of the help the people quests are collect 10 fire salts, 5 ice wraith teeth etc. But for the 'skooma' one, i read i have to go to a warehouse and 2 men attack me. what if i run back outside and let the guards handle them? what if i calm them with my imperial 'voice of emperor'? there must be a way to complete the 'skooma' quest without killing anyone?

No idea, Val.... It would never occur to me to pretend to pacifism.

That is only part of it. You'll find a clue inside with those men, about their suppliers, and Jarl Laila will ask you to go take out the rest of their gang. There aren't too many of them, though, so if you have enough cash to hire a mercenary to accompany you, it might be do-able.

Well with my 1st playthrough I killed so, so many. I feel guilty now. I need to be a good guy in this incarnation to make up for all my bloodlust in my previouas life. There must be a way! Sadly if you have a follower, and they kill (not you) it's still added to your stat screen :(

It would also never occur to me to feel guilty over slaughtering pixels.

I get deeply immersed in my playthrough. to me they are not merely pixels. i have been known to cry during my adventures from time to time.

Whiterun - You must kill the first dragon.
Riften - You must kill the skooma smugglers.
Solitude - You must kill the summoners.
Windhelm - You must progress in the civil war and kill the Butcher.
Markath - Not quite sure. You may be able to get it by doing fetch-quests and giving alms to a beggar.

Markarth requires one "go here and kill the bandits" quest and then another "go here and fetch this shield that was stolen by Hagravens" quest. The second one, depending on which random dungeon he picks, might be doable without killing (if you can Calm-and-run well enough) but the first isn't.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like Markarth is the only option then. What are alms? And do i have to steal them? Thanks

I honestly don't know about Markarth. I avoid that place as if it was infected with the plague. I just don't like it at all, don't even want to get near it. Closest I ever get is the stables on my way to somewhere else....

Could i get the Riften house using Calm and run?

I love the Markarth house and it's pretty easy to get (since I don't want to bother with dragons, I never talk to Jarl Balgruuf in Whiterun anymore, so I don't get that house, which is really the easiest one). But it does require clearing a Forsworn camp, which definitely requires killing.

That will work for the first part but not the second, sadly.

I love Breezehome now that there's a mod to put an Arcane Enchanter in it. I don't mind the dragons at all....

Giving a beggar a septim (giving alms) will count towards "help people of [city]"-quests, which may be needed for getting the house. Can't remember if you can get it without that, as I avoid Markath too :P

Well it looks like I will just have to slum it out at Shor's Stone. I didn't mind dragons with my other character, well until the Ancient ones started appearing lol

I just thought of Ysolda in Whiterun. Her quest required to gain favor with her is just to bring her a mammoth tusk she can trade to the Kahjiit caravans. You can buy or find one of those and bring it to her as a "dower". She has her own home which you can move into after marriage, but apparently she won't go into business for herself unless she's living in a player-owned house.

She'll ask you where to live. If you move in with her, she opens a shop. At least, it worked for me.

I am living with her in her house in Shor's Stone. The place is not very nice, and no bookcases or display cabinets :(

I married Ysolda with a different character. Her house is small, single bed, no bookcases or display cabinets :(
