If you really want to reenact, wear no armour or a chainmail shirt for a wealthy man, use a spear or axe rather than a sword unless you're trying to be a chieftain and carry a round shield. Helmets probably were goggled, spangen type and could have chainmail to protect the neck, although they've foud only one so far if I'm right. That's about true for the middle viking period. Kite shield and simple helmet with noseguard for late period. Longer mail skirts. Too much leather is only for Conan.

But anyway...I changed my mind. I initially wanted to be a Dark Elf Spellsword type character who has been my staple character since Morrowind, but seeing the armor and reading all the awesome Nord lore I wanna be a Nord barbarian with two axes.

Considering that light armor doesn't hurt your speed, and the character the OP described is duel wielding and will have a high strength stat assuming attributes are still in the game, I think this will be a fairly good character for 1v1's with sprint and his ability to blow [censored] up quickly and then proceed to gtfo. Mix in some silence poisons and a ranged attack skill and you'll be set.

That said, he's going to get blown up himself if he gets cornered by multiple mobs that hit hard, I would make sure to train and take advantage of once in a while even if you don't plan on making this guy an assassin.

About that... I felt disappointed when it turned out only orcs got to use the awesome berserker power. I mean, if anyone's justified to have a berserker ability, it's the Nords right?
