Nonfunctional Mesh

E: If I can't tell the difference between GIMP and Blender that might explain a lot.

So, I tried to make a Mechanist power armour by chopping bits off of the Mechanist armour, chopping bits off Ashur's power armour, and importing the Mechanist into Ashur nif and parenting it to the skeleton there. I can't see anything obviously wrong, but it simply doesn't appear at all ingame.

It must be something fairly elementary, I'd assume, but nothing I can spot. Can anyone point it out for me?

The primary problem is that it is saving as an NiNode and not a BSFadeNode.

When you save in Blender, make sure to "drag" the save panel far-enough open so that you can see all of the save options. On the Far Right you will see the "Use BSFadeNode as root" check box, and you will also see the shader flags you can set that Ghogiel is talking about.

It is also missing a collision mesh, but you may know this already. I've not added collision for armors before, but Echonite has a kick-ass tutorial on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD4uywa1-pE.

That should at least get your mesh into a working state.

Cheers,

Miax

Doh, I meant blender. I'd just finished doing the tex.
Thanks, working fine now and dropped faces are undropped.

Miaximus: Armour uses NiNodes and doesn't need collision, so fortunately that wasn't a problem.

Aha!

18 months into the job and still a newb. :whistling:

I really should spend time working on armors and NPC settings, its one area that I have not yet touched on.
