Noob in Need

Hello. I started Morrowind for the first time a few days ago. I was first introduced to TES via Oblivion, and then I played Skyrim. I figured I'd go through Morrowind before TESO is released. There are some stuff that puzzles me so I'll ask here.

Unlike the two TES games I've played priorly, Morrowind apparently:

-Doesn't require fences to sell stolen goods, you can sell them to everyone.

-Doesn't have many NPC's that act on a hour basis, most NPC's seem to stand where they are 24/7.

-Doesn't really have an advantage for using a dagger over a short sword.

-Doesn't really have an advantage for using a short sword alone, instead of short sword + shield. (This was actually the case in Oblivion too if I remember correctly)

This is all I can think of for now. I'll post here again if I have more. Thanks.

This is mostly true. Just don't try selling goods back to the merchant you stole them from.

Unfortunately, the stolen goods system in Morrowind is one of its weakest points.

Respectable merchants won't buy illegal items from you though, such as moon sugar and skooma.

Yep, there are no schedules in Morrowind. People follow path grids with wander AI packages. But there is no navmeshing like in Skyrim or schedules like in Oblivion. There are some mods which attempt to add schedules to Morrowind. But nothing comprehensive.
Other than specific stats such as damage and reach, the dagger and shortswords are treated the same in Morrowind.
You are correct, there are no such advantages in Morrowind. You might as well use the shield if you don't mind the extra weight.

Ah yes, good old Snowy Granius. What a mildly interesting character. Always the lookout and summoning that skeleton when you disturb him. I imagine he summons his Bone Guard just to have tireless monologues with it to satiate his boredom. Until you kill him that is, poor chap.

I'm impressed. Snowy Granius is not an easy NPC to beat. Especially on a first character.
