Noob OOO Question

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:47 am

Ok so I've recently gotten back into Oblivion, but there is one thing that annoyed me a lot in the game and that was when I installed OOO I put the skill gaining thing way too high and it's impossible for me to even get to level two. I did an entire quest mod and I'm still level one. Is there any way to just reset the settings on it?

Could you http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/postlo? Are you using OOO 1.33? It seems that you want to increase skill gain rate. Oblivion XP is a leveling mod, not a skill rates mod, so it would not remedy your issue with OOO. OOO contains optional plugins that should let you do that.

Read the instructions here (the BOSS-relevant portions): http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/installutilities (steps #2 for the download and #8 for install instructions)

I think the game will load Oblivion first no matter what, but the advice is still sound. When using load-order sensitive mods like OOO, ALWAYS use BOSS. As far as leveling speed goes, I hear you... my initial FCOM experience was misery because it took so long to level up. I recommend http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14304.

[EDIT] @Tomlong... you're really pushing your site. If I link to it in my sig, will you pay me?

That's odd...people usually install skill rate gain slowing mods when using OOO and FCOM. Enh, oh, whatever floats your game... I like to have all of my resources in one place, in a simple format. That is the quickest way for me to give people information. I used to make much longer posts, haha.

Edit: I would not pay you, but you can link to it if you want. Then it will only be one click away. :P I just added my site to my bookmarks toolbar a few seconds ago for the first time, haha. Typing in the address bar and waiting for it to pop-up is too slow (for as often as I am referencing it.)

What's already said. BOSS your load order. Also:

05 Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm [Version 1.33]

I'd recommend updating to http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082120-relz-oscuros-oblivion-overhaul-133/page__p__15763896__fromsearch__1&#entry15763896. Lots of small fixes etc.

1C Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp [Version 1.33]
1D OOO-Level_Stock.esp [Version 1.33]

With this setup you should have vanilla level rate settings, i.e. the same as when playing the game unmodded. Start with fixing your load order and see if it helps.

Try Progress. I think the default settings are vanilla, but I am not sure. It includes template INIs along with the default. One of them should be vanilla, if the default is not.

Also, if you are not using the FULL version of OOO, do not use the 1.34b5 patch. It only has the FULL version. There is an update patch available for the light version as well, however.

Edit: I do not know where the LITE patch is anymore.

There isn't a lite version for 1.34 beta5.
It requires a full install of OOO 1.33.

I know. I am talking about that patch for OOO 1.33 LITE that was up at one point. It was not 1.34 anything, it was just a 1.33 LITE update patch.
