Noob question re fusion cores, etc.

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 6:07 am

My power armor is out of power. I have a number of fusion cores in my inventory, but I can't figure out how to put one in the suit. Help.

Also, I've been assigned to make beds in Sanctuary, and I'd like to do that because I really need a bed myself. I believe I have all supplies, but it's not giving me the opportunity to make them. There's a picture of a little guy under the items that says "required," but I don't know what that is. Is there a crafting perk I need to have?

Thanks. I wish there were a basic guide somewhere that I could read instead of asking a bunch of dumb questions.

The sure-fire way of course is to go behind the suit, press "R" to transfer things form your inventory, and then when your inventory opens up, you click on a fusion core. A short little animation of your guy fisting the back of the suit with a fusion core occurs and the power armor is ready to roll.

While inside power armor, fusion cores should automatically swap out for fresh ones the second they die out.

Transfer it across from your inventory to your power armor. Just like when you put an item inside a chest or workshop bench.

Okay, thanks. I was inside it when it went out of power, and it didn't automatically transfer. But I'll try the transfer thing.

Also, how about making the beds, or maybe I should make that a separate question.

Beds require steel and cloth and those are easy to find in Sanctuary. Scrap some ugly rugs and a car ot two. Once you place beds find the people who need them and when you're close enough a command option appears at the bottom of the screen. Hit whatever button that is then get close to whatever bed you want them to sleep in and an assign prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen. Hit the button to assign them to that bed. Repeat for the rest. Do this so they don't randomly decide to go sleep in your bed.

Ahahah.

You shouldn't need any crafting perks to make beds. If you have the supplies, I don't see why it won't let you craft it. I havn't encountered that before though so I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks -- I think the answer to the first question is that I have fusion c??ells, not a fusion core. That's different, right???

I'll try the crafting part again. I got through the part where I was selecting the type of bed, and it wouldn't let me go anywhere from there -- it wouldn't let me choose that particular bed, and the bottom part that sad to choose "E" to start crafting was greyed out. I'll try again.
