Nooby question on the lore

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:34 am

Been around for a while but never needed to post. I have two questions that I can't seem to understand.

1. The Aldmer say that they originated from the mystical continent of Aldmeris. I understand that this could be metaphorical for the previous kalpa or something, but recently I've read about Tamriel being the true homeland of mer. Explain please.

2. Sithis is the embodiment of nothingness and thus doesn't exist if I'm reading the lore correctly. But in this universe by walking as a god you become a god. Or close enough anyway...So does this mean Sithis is a living entity or just a personification of nothing? I'm really confused about this.

Sorry if these questions have been answered recently.

The Mythical continent of Aldmeris, is probably just a myth.

Sithis is Padomay, one of the two primal forces. Sithis is the force of change, not really an actual entity or deity. I think you're mixing up Sithis with his opposite, Anu. Anu is stasis, whereas Sithis is change.

Aldmeris is really a collection of memories from before the dawn time and before the spirits became bound, it was never a real place.

Sithis is a representation of the primordial force of chaos, change, and entropy, also called Padomay

Yeah, it's not a myth, nor a memory. Aldmeris is simply Tamriel. They never left their "homeland."

Aldmeris is the pre-mundus, from before space imposed his tyranny on the world.
