Nord Culture

I've been researching the Nords on UESP and the Imperial Library and there's a lot that could be in the game from the lore.

I wonder whether people think that the Devs will take the time to explore the background of the Nords. They aren't just a bunch of loud mouthed, beer swilling roughnecks as they sometimes tended to be in Oblivion. There's a LOT of interesting lore. For example :

1. The history of how the Nords came to be in Tamriel after moving from Atmora
2. The existence - or otherwise - of the Falmer and what really happened to them
3. The political infighting between the various 'holds' in the wake of the king's death
4. The specific religious viewpoint of the Nords, including those who chose to worship Alduin.

I've written a couple of posts on my blog about this (dunno if we're supposed to give links, but you can see the link in my sig)

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on how the Nords will be portrayed.

All I can say is I hope so. Morrowind gave us a lot of insight into Dunmer culture. Oblivion didn't really give us much insight into any culture, though Cyrodiil is sort of the melting pot of Tamriel, so that could be excused on that count. Skyrim should hearken back to Morrowind and give us a lot of insight into Nordic culture, but there's no telling if it will.

I just hope we aren't getting a shallow rehash of stereotypical Viking culture.

I hope it goes deeper than that. And I hope there is an influx of Dunmer due to Infernal City, that highlights the Nordic Dunmer rivalry. Perhaps alongside the civil war, there's a major clash between the Nords and a surviving Dunmer (or mixture of?) Great House(s).

I hope you can join up with any of the clans, factions tribes there might be since the civil war problems ...

Yes, I hope they'll use the depth of Dunmer culture in Morrowind as a 'template'
