Anyone played as a Nord Mage? I love playing as a Nord, and have a sword+shield warrior that is fairly high level but now I want to try a mage. However, I ONLY want to play as a Nord. Are the racials really that big of a deal? Could I pwn as a Nord Mage? Thanks.

The racials don't make much of a difference, so go for it.

Race is only a matter of appearance now, doesn't matter.

I'm not a full mage but I do weild destruction, restoration and a bit of conjuration plus alchemy and enchanting. Not having any trouble matching that with dual wielding enchanted sword in one hand, magic in the other. I'm leveling my main skills fairly well. Enjoying being able to do all that as a Nord.
