I'm not really fond of nords personally. They are looking sixy in Skryim thought, (most of them, including Alvor),

How to play as a viking:

-No double sided battle axes. Vikings didnt use them. No one actually used them for combat. Vikings primarly used axes and swords, twohanded and onehanded, some berserkers dual wielded, some huscarls used shields.
-You dont wear heavy armor. Chainmail and leather are the vikings best friends.
-You have a beard. If you dont have a beard, call yourself 'baby knight of harmless' or something, but not viking.
-You dont have black hair, dark brown eyes or green eyes. You also dont have dreadlocks or mohawk.
-You are not 'good' or 'evil', you are neutral. You dislike that village with the cowards? Pillage and [censored]. You like that guy who lost his daughter? Help him.
-Magic is for cowards, staffs are okay
-you are a strong, beatiful norse viking and you dont need no girl
-Honor. You dont steal things from people you are friends with, you dont do stealth stuff like a coward, you always fight fair (punching people in the face is fair, running away and drinking potions is not)

I know its TES and not real life, but I just find it fun to play as a viking or legionary soldier like he was in real life (okay maybe a bit tweaked).

So no 'Vikings' ever had dark brown eye's.... Vikings being Nordic/Scandinavian people who raided and traded. I'm pretty sure some Scandinavian people have brown eyes. I have brown eyes. I am not Scandinavian any more now?

Alright, so you dont want to link that vid. Im actually interested in hearing some more Nords, im not trying to argue with you or something.

Some Scandinavian people are (were) vikings. Not all of them. Back then, yeah, they didnt mix races and dark brown eyes were indeed really really rare.

Most modern scandinavians arent 'pure' scandnavians anymore. I sound like some nazi, but thats how genes work.

I like the nords a lot due to them being very close to the old vikings of my country, Norway. The mountains, the snow, the armour, the cities, the race, the culture... Skyrim is almost my home :')

Are you guys asking me questions for the sake of annoying me?
If you really must know, at one point he goes to the character screen and it says: Name: Prisoner Race: Nord.

I can at least tell you that what he says is somewhat true. I'm a "typical" looking Nord/scandinavian. Blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin. Anyways, there's a lot of that type of people in Norway, but with all the imigration there will of course be "fewer" when you are walking the streets. It's like a big melting pot, but maybe smaller... You can't avoid that we mix and match a little here and there so any scandinavian country isn't filled with "Nords". (this is not meant to offend anyone and I'm sorry if I sound racist to anyone. The people of Scandinavia are welcoming all kinds of people, no matter how they look)

They look OK, as do all of the races. But I won't be playing as one in Skyrim, probably ever. I never played a dunmer in morrowind and never played an imperial in oblivion. got to keep up to the tradition and break it only if I am to enter the swamp of blackmarsh in TES 6,7 or 8.

Or 8, or 12. Or never :unsure2: I hope no more than 4 years though. Get fallout 4 on the new consoles to try out the tech and then get TES 6 out to those, solid plan. :goodjob:

It is, however, unlikely that TEs 6 will be in blackmarsh.

Norse refers to a real people and a real culture. People from Norway. Norwegian people. (I am perhaps 20% Norwegian, but very proud of my heritage!)

Nord refers to a fictional people and culture. People from Skyrim (or Atmora). Nordic People (Nedic people).

I've got a Nord character that has been going since Morrowind. In Morrowind he looked pretty rugged, and had an awesome beard. In Oblivion he was a potato-faced bumpkin with a smattering of odd dark coloration where his beard should have been. In Skyrim he will be a weather-worn warrior with a mighty beard and a map of scars across his face to show the hardships he has overcome!

Can't wait!

Why would a viking have no wife? Their gods married.

I agree with what you said, I think what he said is just supposed to be a guideline for the most dedicated of vikings I suppose, much as it is in Catholicism where a priest can't get married and has to do celibacy and that instead. just an example

Don't forget that Nord aren't only based on real-life Vikings but on Scottish people and lore too. Norse inspiration is still the more important.

Dark hair and eyes are lore wise, even if less common thant blond hair and blue eyes.

Oh and, yes, I really love Nord lore !

<<< This beauty is my Nord female ranger.

This seems familiar, but different at the same time...

PS sorry I did it on all other race topics it needed to be done.

As for the Nords I like'em but I like all the new looks for all the races.
