Seeing as how the game takes place in Skyrim, I'm hoping we'll definitely get a good look at the Nords culture :) Just exploring, talking to priests and locals to discover the culture was one of my favorite aspects of Morrowind, and I'd love for Skyrim to have similar depth.

I love nordic culture so im very glad the game takes place in skyrim

Not sure if ill play a nord for my first playthrough but i do want to make either a nord or a orc for my warrior character

I wonder if there are any race related quests or mabye because your a local you wont have to deal with much racism

I've liked the nords ever since one assigned me to steal some bosmer treasure and another one locked me in a house full of desperate victims.
And the best thing about them now is of course http://togadget.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Skyrim-Nord-590x331.jpg which could even put Sheogorath or Chuck Norris's beards to shame.

Skyrim will no doubt make me like the nords even more when discovering their lore and culture.

I really like some of the Nord presets. I especially like Nord female presets #'s 1 and 2. I also like the male preset #1.

My first character, Sibyl, will be a Breton, when choosing a race in the Character Creator. However, she will be a half-breed. A Breton mother, and a Nord father, and resultantly will have been raised in the Nord culture.

Sibyl might like to date someone who looks like male Nord #1, if he is of good character, lol.

How to play as a viking:

-No double sided battle axes. Vikings didnt use them. No one actually used them for combat. Vikings primarly used axes and swords, twohanded and onehanded, some berserkers dual wielded, some huscarls used shields.
-You dont wear heavy armor. Chainmail and leather are the vikings best friends.
-You have a beard. If you dont have a beard, call yourself 'baby knight of harmless' or something, but not viking.
-You dont have black hair, dark brown eyes or green eyes. You also dont have dreadlocks or mohawk.
-You are not 'good' or 'evil', you are neutral. You dislike that village with the cowards? Pillage and [censored]. You like that guy who lost his daughter? Help him.
-Magic is for cowards, staffs are okay
-you are a strong, beatiful norse viking and you dont need no girl
-Honor. You dont steal things from people you are friends with, you dont do stealth stuff like a coward, you always fight fair (punching people in the face is fair, running away and drinking potions is not)

I know its TES and not real life, but I just find it fun to play as a viking or legionary soldier like he was in real life (okay maybe a bit tweaked).

Huscarls weren't the only ones to use shield
Though they used, very very large round shields.

What I like about the new female Nords is how much they look like a St. Paulie's girl than a "holga smash!" look

I know, i just gave an example, and huscarl is perfect because so many people know them.
Vikings did have smaller shields, aswell as other shapes than round, im not sure if huscarls used them though

(from previous thread)

Commandant Oreo: "What's wrong with Woad? That was a pretty decent ability. "

Yeah, but not really suitable for a race who primarily are warriors. It is too spell-like. As is Nord Frost.

They really need something similar to Berserk and Adrenaline Rush.

To repeat what I said in the previous thread;

Give 'em Nord Rage! :celebration:

The Nords are one of my favourite TES species and I was totally planning on playing as one in Skyrim until... I heard the voice. The voice is terrible, he doesn't sound like a Nord, he sounds like a wimp. And that's a no-no.
