To give you a slightly less flippant answer than my previous one, if you want to play a Nord, play a Nord. There's no shortage of Nord NPCs in Skyrim who have black hair, for instance, and dark eyes are certainly an option during character generation (though I never really noticed how dark NPC Nords' eyes generally get). I can't recall how "tan" PC Nords can get, but certainly there are some "ruddy" options - not to mention the more subtle "dirt" textures which can have the effect of darker skin.

So... sure, why not?

My comments were completely tongue in cheek. I had hoped the absurd almost quote of what the Stormies spout would have been clear. Sorry if it sounded a bit flippant. My bigger point was my general dislike of trying to match Nirn things up too closely to Earth things.

'Twas certainly not my intent to try to get Skyrim Civil War on myself - ugh. I'm a true wood elf by the way, so the humans and their petty squabbles are actually of no interest when it comes to what they call their civil war. From my Bosmer's perspective, the Red Coats want to cut her head off for no reason and the Blue Coats just hate elves in general.

Come now, it's not propaganda. It's something of a battle of world views. From a certain point of view Empire aligned nords are a little bit more watered down from a cultural perspective and are more cosmopolitan,while the others are holding on to their roots strongly.

Sounds more like the OP's an American to me, which means you're none of them. You're American. To be true Nordic you have to have been born and raised in Scandinavia. It's a bit like me being part Scot and part English. Nope, sorry, I was born and raised in the West Country of England, so no matter where some ancestor of mine came from I'll always identify with being English. 100%

people often say the part I've bolded, but its not necessarily true.. sure they say "but the old ways!", and yet they almost all worship the Imperial Pantheon rather than the Nordic one.. in fact, there are few people in the province that even acknowledge that the true Pantheon of those "Old Ways" is entirely different from the ones most SC supporters follow..

Which is fine for you, but not necessarily the case for all people born and raised in England - I definitely see my Scottish and Welsh ancestry as important parts of me, particularly the Welsh (I even studied the language for a while, though I only managed a year at university due to ill health.)
