Why are people making a big deal out of the horn helmet? Nords are not Vikings! Influenced, yes. Exact copy? Absolutely not.

Will you guys just shut up with this they are not vikings stuff ,... you evidently think that any1 with wings or horns on their helms are vikings and I am sorry to be the one to tell you that the germanic tribes, and the franks, and all the tribes of what is now spain and portugal, and even many british tribes, as well as many others from the orient, literally any1 who wore helms at any time, you would find horns, feathers, wings, whatever, attached to them so pls shut up with that ignorant talk. You dont have a market on a TES feel to things

Fantasy + Vikings = Horned Helmets.

So true. Still, I'll wear Unhorned helms in Skyrim, that's for sure.

That is what I'm saying. Don't take it out on me. Elder Scrolls' Nords can have any type of armor the developers want to give them, because Skyrim isn't on Earth, but in the land of Tamriel on Nirn. So all this "Vikings don't have horn helmets" is irrelevant.

Vikings didn't have horned helmets, and neither did anyone else. You know why? Because it svcked. The weight on your head would get totally [censored] up and they are pretty much handlebars.
Few helmets have been found that actually have horns, they are believed to have been used as ritual helmets.

You guys know you are forced to wear this helmet right? In fact, every Nord in the game wears one. Get used to it.

There are screenshots on that website that they claim to be from skyrim, by the way. (Looks like they're from oblivion since there's a HUD)...

Real feathers on helmets, that could be ok. But putting a lot of weight on a helmet is not practical.

Because they are not vikings and they are not nords as we think of them in htis world. It's a fictional world and not this world. There are no orcs nor argoneons either. Totally fictional places, people, races and stories. ;)

Of course... it is pure coincidence they are called Nords because they are from the northernmost part of the known word, tall, blond, braid their hair, are enthusiastic" warriors, they thrive in the cold, and are natural seamen...

.. and "Breton" ? Ha ha, What the heck is that? Who ever heard of "Breton" before TES? The French? .

Gorgeous cover.

Now, I'm going t whine: Why does every game company that does a game which includes something roughly anolagous to Vikings have to put horns on their helmets? They.did.not.wear.them.

OK. I"m done now.

So every company doing a story on skyrim is getting the same demo, the dude on the cover looks the same as the dude from the screens. I want to at least see this demo. :sadvaultboy:

I fully expected Norway to come up with something epic for a Scandanavian-esque game like Skyrim

I won't really call it a coincidence, they drew inspiration from somewhere. :P

They have as you've figured out a real-life equvilent too, and a reason for the French-ish names, even if the Bretons are as enthuiastic about being called French as the Welsh are being called English.

Yeah! Let's just blame Wagner for the horned-helmets-cliche. Problem solved.
