Well I must say that the art looks more stylish (in the right sense) than of what I had in mind previously. Good. And the dude looks at once menacing and somewhat tense. Here's hoping to see that the artistic flair and the air of desperation carries throughout the atmosphere of the game itself.

Link is broken, well the site is temporarily down rather.

This is rather cool anyway though, as I can pick up a Norwegian issue of GameReactor at the Gamestop nearby, so I'll be doing that.

EDIT: About the horned helmets. No, it was not common practice to attach horns to helmets for the vikings. However, it's inconcievable that chieftains or other high ranking figures may have done so. At any rate, it doesn't matter, it's a fantasy game and it looks cool. Nords are not really vikings anyway, they can do whatever they want with their headgear.

Since there's mammoths in Skyrim (correct me if I'm wrong) there's a logical explanation for horns being placed on helmets.

Unless you just crafted a horn, but thats like owning fake designer products.

Again, Meh. Nothing too impressive. Yes it is nice, but it doesn't scream TES to me. Maybe I don't care for Vikings too much.
Skyrim is starting to look more like a Viking game than a TES game. I want more TES feel to it. To me this screenshot looks
like a Diablo III.

Now if it was a female, or one of the non human races, then I could be excited for. :nope: Doesn't scream TES to me at all.

thats because this one of skyrim... which is full or nords... who are based on norse culture and norse mythology... who's beleivers were VIKINGS...nords are based on vikings. Thats why it seems viking too you. The elder Scrolls is a Dynamic Universe. Which means its nto all mages and knights like in cyrodil. I mean look how different the theme of morrowind and oblivion is in themse. oblivion is like woody forrest with fairies and spriggans. knight in armor. morrowind is deserts and marshes, evil volcano monsters lol. completely different.

Gorgeous cover.

Now, I'm going t whine: Why does every game company that does a game which includes something roughly anolagous to Vikings have to put horns on their helmets? They.did.not.wear.them.

OK. I"m done now.

Well i'm sure knights did not have dragon scaled armor either... if fantasy knights get weird stuff like that. then vikings in fantasy shuld get horn helmets. is that reasonable to you?

Then how come in all those paintings of vikings like Eric the Red are they wearing the horned helmets? Perhaps that is why the are 'famous' to the game industries. Plus it is a game.

Will you guys just shut up with this they are not vikings stuff ,... you evidently think that any1 with wings or horns on their helms are vikings and I am sorry to be the one to tell you that the germanic tribes, and the franks, and all the tribes of what is now spain and portugal, and even many british tribes, as well as many others from the orient, literally any1 who wore helms at any time, you would find horns, feathers, wings, whatever, attached to them so pls shut up with that ignorant talk. You dont have a market on a TES feel to things

Stop acting like that on the forums please. We all know germanic tribes had things like that but this is a video game forum not a history forum. And those germanic tribes came together to make those tribes of vikings. If you really need to know. Thats why they say viking. No need to call everyone ignorant and tell them to shutup. BTW the Britsh followed Norse mytholgy which is the mythology of the viking peoples from norway. They are very closely related. If people want to say viking it would not really be wrong.

I don't see the harm in telling people to make informed statements, making mistakes is fine, but if you know nothing about a subject then researching it before you make statements is hardly too much to ask.

Comes out tomorrow, on the 8th. Words from the manager himself.

Strange though, I thought it was the 7th... I guess they changed it.

What's even more strange is the fact that the norwegian gamereactor came out on friday but I wasn't able to find it in 3 gaming stores that I checked, which are even listed on the GR website.
Naturally I thought I was mistaken with it being the 4th. Nope, they DID release it as they said it in that recent article that included those pictures from the magazine. Was it only for subscribers though? :sadvaultboy:

Does anyone have it yet?
