Nords and the Civil War V1.1

Post » Tue Aug 27, 2013 5:08 pm

I support the Aldmeri Dominion and disapprove of the Thalmor.

Nords are inconsequential and so is their little war.

It's nice to know we have your support.

Nice to know the Dominion is so predictable.

The dominion wasn't betrayed by their government with a treaty after giving up so many lives to fight for their god, and now fight to be independent and be ruled by who they believe is their rightful king all the while the people they fought are allowed to arrest those who still worship.....were they?

You're mistaking us for the Thalmor. We don't like them either. Sorry for your plight but in case you didn't notice, they arrest us too.

Hard to notice when the game is in Skyrim, not the Dominion. The most we know of is what is said in Rising Threat and "purges". As for the dominion and the Thalmor, the thalmor rule them, and its their armies that will be attacking, so I don't really care until the Thalmor are overthrown.

Their Dominion Armies, but the Dominion is currently ruled by the Thalmor that is correct.

The way you word it is like saying the US Military is made up of Democrats.

I'm getting off topic though.

As a Aldmeri Dominion supporter, I would say I support the Stormcloaks. Namely because the Empire is failing and I don't think any people should be subjected to their rule anymore. The 3rd era is long over, and the 4th era is one that will mark the change.

Lol, not at all. That would only work if I said they're all thalmor because they're ruled by thalmor. Which I didn't. What I did say was I didn't care about them. Why? Because at the end of the day, they're serving the enemy, willing or not.

If there was an uprising in the Dominion that disposed the Thalmor, would the Dominion still be the enemy?

Speaking as a Khajiit: they'd sure as oblivion be my enemy.
Even if the new government was benevolent and cared for the Khajiit and Elsweyr, they'd still be denying us independence. The only way I would stop thinking of the Dominion as the enemy is if the pulled out of Elsweyr, declared us a sovereign state and renounced any right to rule Elweyr or dictate the fate of the children of Azurah.

The Dominion doesn't tule Elsweyr. They divided it into the two old kingdoms, both independently ruled.

This kind of reminds me of how I feel about the 3 joinable houses in Morrowind: I like Nords/Dumers overall, but am neutral toward these conflicting factions. I thought I'd hate stormcloaks on my first playthrough siding with the Empire. But in the end I find the questline equally satisfying.

The land of the fabled Khajiit are not ruled by the Thalmor or Dominion, they are a part of the Dominion by the choice of their own people who overthrew the Mane. The two client-states allied themselves willingly. Did the Thalmor back the Khajiit coup? Yes, but who wouldnt want to help out a potential ally? If you want to be independent, you will need to overthrow the rulers of aElsweyr and then leave the Dominion. Though dont expect the Dominion to be happy about you turning your tails on our alliance.

I voted I like the Nords and support the Stormcloaks.

This is a game and I like all the races. Each has their own niche and lore that makes them interesting. Some more than others. I don't particularly care to *play* Nords because I go for more the more magically inclined or archery inclined races.

I tend to be a Stormcloak supporter. Not because I'm all gaga over Nords or Ulfric but because I haven't thought much of the Empire since I first played Morrowind. And closer to home, I'm an American who is Pagan so religious persecution is not something I tolerate well. Unfortunately my husband and I tend to see and experience it a lot so don't care for it in my games and will smite it! :)

Why would the Khajiit kill the Mane? The Mane is a very influential figure to the Khajiit.

I like the Nords and support the Stormcloaks.

Unless the Empire has some sort of "big secret plan" against the Thalmor, they're just allowing them to take over all of Tamriel. Which means extremely bad news. At least if you aren't an Elf.

They don't care if you're an Elf. Only if you're Thalmor.

According to The Infernal City, the Mane was assassinated at some point, when the empire had lost control of the province. Doesn't say by whom, but that was before the Void Nights.
