Nords vs Dunmer

Dunmer only look good at the end of a sword or under thick leathered boots.

Quite, considering how Mordecai (the concept guy's name, in case you didn't know already) here is shown with one. I'll also point out that he's on the slender side; in real life, I would equate him to be of a more agile and limber build. His voice is, more or less, smooth and suave, not very much like the gruff and boisterous image of a Nord. Also, the lenses of his goggles are tinted red. And he has a pet bird, which you should substitute with a miniature cliff racer.

In short, if you want to stick with the concept as closely as possible, I'd go with Dunmer. They're very good statwise for a Hunter archetype too.

Indeed i am familiar with Mordecai, and I'm surprised someone else is, at least on these forums. The racer pet idea is awesome, and i probably won't make Aaros as ridiculously thin.

Nord...

You seem hesitant or sarcastic judging from the "...". I'm guessing you care for neither race.

What can I say... five Hunter save files in Borderlands, me thinks I'm obsessed. Normal (first char) run, all sniper run, all pistols run, melee and grenades run (that's insane, don't do it), and a "Jesuswing" run.

I know there's no firearms (fire hands, maybe) in TES, but bows and such come close. In fact, the more I think about it, the more he seems to be suited for stealth, plus ranged or melee weapons at your choice. And Nords aren't known for their sneaking abilities.

That Hunter is a Spy Dunmer!

I have the same problem ... trying to choose between nord or dunmer ... I like dunmers much more, but nord kinda fit in skyrim ... I guess I will make both of them, but dunmer first, because it is more original than a nord barbarian ...

Nord. I've always been Nord.

I do like the Dunmer as a race though. Just not for me.

Don’t pick Dunmer to fight dragons, especially if some of them don’t breath fire, but maybe ice or even electricity (i.e. different dragon shouts). I would pick them though cuz they just look badass :D

Bearded Nord.

Dunmer can't have manly beards, they can only have stylish goatees and other such things.

Unfortunately due to their inferior beard size they will not be respected by dragons on the same level as the nord-master-race. I'll be riding dragons before the week is out and you'll be pickup up the ashes of your crushed livelihood on vvardenfell hahahahaha

You N'wah!

My Dunmer's going to have such a massive beard, it'll have its own name and become the 10th continent of Tamriel.

I think I'll try Dunmer the first time around as this was my main Oblivion character. Like someone else said, 'fire resistence' is key when you fight dragons.
If the game is worthy of a second play through then I'll go for Nord.

pffft

IF the game is worthy of a second play-through

I've always been torn between these two races, I love both of them but since its skyrim i will be going nord for the first playthrough, second playthrough i will be choosing dunmer that is of course if any of the new improved races catches my eye.

Dunmers.

They got a beautiful history from Chimer in 1st era. :flamed:
They remind me of Lord Nerevar.

Nords!

I mean, who would not want to be a freaking viving? Besides, I'm a fan of pure melee characters and Nords fit that role pretty well.

I am Nord at hart, but this really made reconsider playing as a Dunmer. ^_^

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/276/b/f/bf7b97fe5c82633877b14530e29ae01f.jpg. A scattered race in a hostile land. Makes for a pretty compelling story, no? Plus fire resistance. svck it dragons.

You sir may have just convinced me. Add a few spells and potions and I'll be UNSTOPPABLE! (If they keep the 75% resistance thing)

And, also, to the dude that hates Dunmer because they are racist to pond scu... Uh, i mean Argonians, they DID kind of take over Morrowind and all, so, friends? :icecream:
