Do not believe the minimum specs

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 4:58 am

You were so sure, now you're suggesting to wait and see?

you still struggle to make sense.

never once did my belief in my initial prediction wane through out this thread.

Just because someone says "Green bay packers will win the Super bowl" and another says "no they won't" and the first person says "Time will tell" does not mean the first person at all changed their position, they are just suggesting to wait and see.

Stick to your day job......let the big boys argue on internet forums about serious stuff LOL

But let me reiterate. We can all argue all we want......but wait till the game is out, I swear I will come here and all my claims will be validated. Have patience....I assure you I will bookmark this thread and return to it when I am proven correct. Crysis 2 will run equally if not better than Crysis 1.

I hear the lighting is A LOT better in Crysis 2. Lightning is one of the biggest killers of gpus, and shadows. So I do fear it will perform worse, new drivers will help but Crytek knows what they're doing when they raise the minimum specs.

Like I said, let time tell the truth.
And yet your thread completely dismisses what official information has been shared so far? You were so sure, now you're suggesting to wait and see?

I'm unsure why consoles are even being brought into this discussion. Consoles have absolutely nothing to do with PC system requirements. Consoles hardware and settings are matched and optimised as best as they can be for one another, PC does not have this kind of luxury. Therefore, if PC specs state a minimum of 'X' hardware on the PC platform, it has absolutely zero relation to what console hardware and/or settings are. You're trying to relate apples to oranges.

As for my role and what i do or don't know, that has little to do with anything. I am, however, posting the official specs from Crytek, the people creating this game and who have spent the last 3 years developing this engine. I have no doubt they know what they're talking about when it comes to listing specs :)

"Optimize" all you want, but the consoles' hardware is not going to magically become more powerful than it really is. The PS3 GPU is like an Nvidia 7000 series card and the Xbox 360 GPU is like an ATI X1900 series card. There is no way they can be squeezed enough to even come close to matching an 8800GT let alone surpassing it. So unless if functions are being offloaded onto the GPU in the PC version and functions are being offloaded onto the CPU in the console versions, these system requirements make no sense.
