Hi guys and ladies. As i say, they can release whatever dlc they want, i am not buying until we get a decent patch. There should be a big patch by now. I have enough of textures flickering, audio screeching on NPCs with scarves, and i have enough of a real bad communication from bethesda or obsidian.

Hi, i have no problems with my pc, i run ALL the games i have, even the dogiest ones like sacred 2 (Q6600, HD5770, 4g RAM, Seven 64 optimized, latest drivers for ati and realtek, C++ and all that updated) . I might be a bit picky, but that HDR making textures to flicker is just not normal, and there is no correlation with AA. I know that it seems to be the same case on oblivion but i am not experiencing this issue with it. The stutters are also not normal. My system is PERFECTLY updated.
The sound screeching when i talk to NPCs "wearing" scarves or masks is probably related to the french version that i have. So far, the support has'nt come back to me. I sent a ticket about 2 month ago.
So i am telling you, i am not ranting like a moron.

Exactly same issues here, my pc have no problems ( eh it's my job ! )... + Freezes ( i've done a test : same installation of windows on the same hardware with just an old CPU an mobo --core2 6600 + P5B-- and pouf freezes disappered -it's my only game who does that- ) smells like a compatibilty prb! ( and yes i'm absolutly sure of my hardware and my configuration )

It's a software issue, the software is the game and the issues is it's super buggy, it's not a rant it's just truth that no-one likes to read.

I've had this game since October. I don't exactly have a beast of a system either, I have an i5 and an nvidia gts 450. Running on my 1080p monitor with all details maxed and the only "stutter" I see is when you're walking around and it's loading a new area which is normal for a game like this. It's streaming from the hard drive which causes a temporary bandwidth issue. Oblivion used to have a "now loading" message when it did this and I think you can even use the console to turn it on here.

If you're having framerate problems that could be a number of things. Some of the maps are huge, like that cave on the lower right hand corner of the map full of legion people. It's huge, has a lot of specular highlights and burning barrels, and has a lot going on in it so its taxing this engine farther than it was intended to be. Even on a good setup it probably isn't uncommon to have 30fps down from 60fps. Or in Vault 21, due to the way the level designer created it the framerate is reduced. There is nothing to do about that and it's not stutter. Neither is general loss of fps due to your hardware even if you can run games that arguably look better its an apples to oranges scenario.

I saw a video on youtube for FO3 where every second it skipped a few frames walking in a circle. If you have that, then I suggest contacting your video card manufacturer and making a video of your own to post here so we can see and not just dxdiag logs. I read on this other forum where somebody said the game appears to run at 60fps but it's actuall 65fps and if you look in the background you see almost invisible microstutter. That is something that all games do! You get 60 fps but they're not all evenly spaced out with your refresh rate even with vsync and that's just how video cards work. I know once people see things they can't be unseen and I'm sorry if that's the stutter you're talking about... I don't see it and I don't want to look for it otherwise I'll notice it everywhere and won't be able to game any longer

the gamebryo engine, he's been doing it for years...(not talking about you Vault13er)

Even when the FO3 patch caused a LOT of people to CTD, he blamed everybody's computers,
even though they were able to run the 1.4 patch just fine

I have no problem running any other game, with the settings maxed out.
It's the gamebryo engine, it's old and antiquated, I get stutter so bad in certain places
that it looks like a slide show, and I have to let go of the mouse until everything "settles down",
as if the game is loading the area or whatever.
FONV is far worse than FO3 was at stutter.
Also I'll get noticeable stuttering mostly around populated areas, such as the 188 trading post, with and without mods.

This game engine is the crashiest and buggiest of the game engines.
I can play any of the Gothic Series for Hours, without one crash, stutter or lock-up, same with any Bioware Game,
only Bethesda Games CTD or Lock Up on my system.

ROFL, i know EXACTLY what you mean. Sad when one of the Gothic games run better than a big time game like Fallout.

Anyone who has tried to play one of the Gothic games would understand. (and i actually love the series. Storyline was excellent) Gothic 3 was literally unplayable for more than a year after release. Come on guys.

I have the same problems. My weaker pc that is now a dedicated server, would play FONV fine except with a lower frame rate and massive lag from explosions. Now that i've upgraded, the game runs smooth with studder here and there on Ultra graphic. Not so bad. But the CTDs are ridiculous. Never any error msgs. I think i may have set a record the other night. i played for at least 3 hours without a single issue. Seems like the worst part is around the powder gang/primm area.
