I have read 'How to become a lore buff' and all of its references and there are a few things in particular that I simply not comprehend. I understand that many members on this forum may like to refer me to the stories available but I'm asking for help comprehending them as part of that referral if that's what you do.
I do not understand mantling. I don't understand how mortals can mimic an event/relationship/sequence/behaviour and at some stage the mortal is considered to have 'mantled' a devine being and then something happens. For example, although I understand (or believe I do) that Talos is said to have mantled Lorkhan (or Shezzar?) I do not understand by which means he did this, what changed it from simply an action or series of actions and what the actual consequence then is.
I do not understand the kalpa. I believe I understand that the world is eaten and then everything starts over. When it starts over, is anything different or do the same sequence of events play out? For example, is the world always created anew, is it created by the same particpants and do the events such as Vivec becoming a god, the oblivion crisis and the like always play out?
I do not understand the towers. I really, really don't understand the towers and the lore gives me squinty confused eyes and a slight nervous twitch. I do not understand the Nu-Mantia Intercept and it reads to me as though Nu-Mantia sits outside the world somehow. Why does it start with terms like "Security protocols: Sphinxmoth ancestor wraithbone wards"?
Now there are certainly other things I don't understand but I hope you can all clear up the simple topics above?
Yours in anticipation
